    • Yandy Díaz reaches five times in win vs. Toronto
Yandy Díaz went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two walks against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Díaz started his day with a single to lead off the first inning. He added a base hit in the third and led off the sixth with his third hit before scoring on a single by Amed Rosario. Dìaz reached again in the seventh on a walk and drew another walk in the eighth to reach base in all five plate appearances. The 32-year-old first baseman ends the day hitting .263/.330/.360 with three homers and 23 RBI across 206 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 3:00 pm

    • Zach Eflin surrenders four runs against Blue Jays
Zach Eflin allowed four runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Eflin had worked through three scoreless innings before the Blue Jays brought a run across to score on three hits in the fourth. Four consecutive hits to start the fifth inning would bring three more runs in for Toronto. Eflin would return for one more inning, ending his day after six with three strikeouts. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 4.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 44/4 K/BB ratio across 59 innings into a start against the Royals in Tampa Bay on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 2:57 pm

    • Ke’Bryan Hayes (back) nearing return from IL
Ke’Bryan Hayes (back) is scheduled to resume baseball activities early next week.

Advice: Hayes was shipped to the injured list last weekend with back inflammation, but it sounds like he’s going to make it back to Pittsburgh in short order. He’s expected to resume fielding and hitting early next week and might not require a rehab assignment before returning. Rotoworld Today, 10:33 am

    • Goes deep again Friday
Ward went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-3 win against Texas.

Advice: Ward padded an already large Angels lead with a solo shot in the sixth inning. It was his second homer in his past two contests and gave him an RBI in three straight games. Ward has gone deep nine times through 188 plate appearances this year, putting him on pace so surpass his career-best mark of 23 long balls set two seasons ago. Rotowire.com Today, 10:27 am

    • Steven Kwan (hamstring) takes BP on Friday
Steven Kwan (hamstring) took batting practice on Friday.

Advice: Kwan has resumed baseball activities and is progressing well, according to Guardians manager Stephen Vogt. The 26-year-old contact-oriented outfielder remains without a firm return timetable, but it sounds like he could return to Cleveland’s lineup before the end of the month following a minor league rehab assignment. • Participates in batting practice
Kwan (hamstring) participated in batting practice Friday for the first time since he went on the injured list, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: "He's progressing well," manager Stephen Vogt said before Friday's series opener against Minnesota. "Still don't have a timetable, but the fact that he's already back to baseball activity is a good sign. He's feeling well and been running relatively pain-free, so he's on a good track." Kwan was initially given a four-week timeline when he went on the injured list, so it's encouraging that he's resumed baseball activities halfway through that expected absence. The Guardians are likely to take things cautiously with Kwan given his history of hamstring issues, so it's unclear when he might be able to go out on a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Today, 10:09 am

    • Twins activate Byron Buxton for Saturday return
Twins activated OF Byron Buxton from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Buxton returns to Minnesota’s lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the division-rival Guardians following a two-week absence due to right knee inflammation. The 30-year-old center fielder has managed to avoid serious injury so far, but has gotten off to an icy start at the plate, batting .250/.300/.391 with one homer and one steal in 100 plate appearances over 28 contests. • Reinstated from IL
The Twins reinstated Buxton (knee) from the injured list Saturday.

Advice: Buxton went 0-for-6 with an RBI during his two-game rehab assignment, but he has seemingly fully recovered from his right knee inflammation and will return as Minnesota's everyday center fielder. The 30-year-old was slashing .343/.410/.543 with four RBI and eight runs scored across his last 10 games before getting injured. Rotowire.com Today, 9:19 am
    • Coughs up five runs
Peralta (3-2) allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against Houston.

Advice: All five runs against Peralta came on Houston home runs; Jake Meyers knocked a two-run shot in the second inning followed by Jeremy Pena's three-run blast in the fifth. Peralta forced 13 whiffs -- including seven with his slider -- and has generated double-digit swinging strikes in each of his nine starts this season. After beginning the year with a 1.90 ERA through 23.2 frames, he's posted an ugly 6.23 ERA over his last five outings. Peralta's next start is lined up to be in Miami next week.
