    • Shaky in return
Carrasco (2-5) came away with the loss Sunday against Washington, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over four innings.

Advice: Carrasco (neck) made his first start since May 15 after a minimum-length stint on the 15-day injured list due to neck spasms. Carrasco's struggles continued Sunday, losing his third straight outing and allowing five or more earned runs for the third time in his last six starts. The 37-year-old veteran has eaten up innings for Cleveland this season but has not delivered for fantasy managers, posting a 5.66 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 49.1 frames. He will look to turn things around in his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend in Miami. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Allows two runs, works into seventh
Irvin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings against the Rays. He struck out one.

Advice: Irvin entered the seventh with a two-run lead having allowed only a single run, but a leadoff homer in the inning by Jose Caballero cut the lead in half and he was pulled after facing one more batter, prior to the lineup turning back over for the Rays. It was Irvin's first quality start since May 3, though he's allowed no more than three earned runs and has posted five scoreless outings in each of his last nine games. Throughout that stretch, he's thrown 47 innings with a 1.72 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 30 strikeouts. His next start is tentatively slated for next weekend against these same Rays when the Orioles return the favor and make the trek to Tampa. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

    • Dealing with groin injury
Snell exited Sunday's matchup with the Yankees early due to a tight left groin, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Advice: Snell was ultimately tagged with three runs over 4.2 innings in the outing Sunday, while his seven strikeouts matched a season high. It's unclear whether the left-hander will be forced to miss any additional action or not with the groin injury. His next projected start is tentatively set to come Saturday on the road against the Rangers. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Finally victorious
Irvin (3-5) picked up the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing two earned runs on five hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Irvin turned in his third-consecutive quality start and his seventh of the season Sunday, earning his first win since April 29. In five starts since his last win, the 27-year-old Irvin pitched five or more innings in all of them, compiling a 2.45 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and a crisp 28:4 K:BB across 29.1 innings. Irvin will look to keep the success going in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend versus Atlanta. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Battles through quality start
Littell did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on 11 hits and one walk over six innings against the Orioles. He struck out two.

Advice: Littell's day started by allowing a leadoff homer to Gunnar Henderson, but he somehow managed to keep the Rays in the game despite walking the tight rope throughout most of his six-inning effort. In total, Littell scattered a season-high 11 hits and 12 total baserunners while accumulating a season-low two strikeouts. Despite facing at least five Orioles batters in four of his six innings completed, Littell managed to walk away with a quality start and his gritty performance kept the door open for the Rays to pull off the comeback win. Littell will look to make things a bit easier on himself during his next start, tentatively slated to take place against these same Orioles next weekend when the O's return the favor and make the trip to Tampa. • Removed early Sunday
Snell was removed from Sunday's contest against the Yankees in the fifth inning with an undisclosed injury, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Snell had tossed 4.2 innings of one-run ball while striking seven batters, but he was forced to exit with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning. The left-hander had already thrown 99 pitches in the contest, so he was likely facing his final batter of the game anyway. Reliever Erik Miller surrendered a two-run double to Alex Verdugo when he entered the contest, tacking on two more earned runs to Snell's line. More information on the southpaw's status will likely come following the conclusion of the game. Rotowire.com Today, 2:40 pm

    • Blake Snell exits start with injury on Sunday
Blake Snell was removed from Sunday’s start against the Yankees in the fifth inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: It’s still unclear exactly what happened here, but with two outs in the fifth inning Snell received a visit from manager Bob Melvin, the pitching coach and the training staff — after which the decision was made to pull him from the game. To add insult to injury, Erik Miller came on and allowed a two-run single that plated a pair of Snell’s runners. Ultimately, he was charged with three runs on five hits and three walks over his 4 2/3 innings of work while striking out seven batters. Expect the Giants to provide an update on his status shortly. • Michael King gets tough luck no decision vs KC
Michael King allowed one run on four hits in seven innings in a no-decision against the Royals.

Advice: King was all set to record the win with the Padres up 3-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. However, with their bullpen being taxed heavily over the last few days, the Padres had to go with Yuki Matsui to close the game, and he allowed three runs while only recording one out. King was only able to induce eight whiffs on 48 swings for a 17 percent whiff rate and 24 percent CSW, but he allowed an average exit velocity on all batted balls of just 84 mph. Despite some poor starts, he has been a solid fantasy starter for much of the year and makes for a fine play against the Diamondbacks next week. Rotoworld Today, 2:37 pm

    • Alex Cobb (shoulder) nearing bullpen session
Alex Cobb (shoulder) has reportedly had a breakthrough with the nerve issue he has been battling, as he’s now pain-free and close to throwing a bullpen session.

Advice: The 36-year-old hurler is expected to throw a bullpen session during the team’s next homestand with an eye on potentially rejoining the Giants’ rotation at some point in July. He’s already had plenty of setbacks this season, but Cobb seems cautiously optimistic that he’s on the road to recovery this time. Rotoworld Today, 2:35 pm
