• Trevor Megill (elbow) returns to action Saturday
Trevor Megill (elbow) returned to action on Saturday and looked no worse for the wear, striking out all three batters that he faced in a scoreless inning against the White Sox.

Advice: It wasn’t a save chance, as it was the seventh inning of a game where the Brewers trailed 3-1, but it was nice to see Megill look as dominant as ever after taking a scary line drive off of his arm during Monday’s game. He needed just 14 pitches (nine strikes) to dispatch of Zach Remillard, Tommy Pham and Korey Lee in order. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago

  • Back from IL
The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately reclaim his spot as the Dodgers' closer, a role he thrived in prior to getting injured. Elieser Hernandez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:20 pm
  • Dodgers activate Evan Phillips from 15-day IL
Dodgers activated RHP Evan Phillips from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role. On the season, he holds a minuscule 0.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 17/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings of work while recording eight saves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:57 pm
  • Mets option Christian Scott to Triple-A on Friday
Mets option RHP Christian Scott to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Scott complied a strong 3.90 ERA and 25/6 K/BB ratio across five starts for New York. The 24-year-old top pitching prospect is expected to return to the big leagues soon, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. Scott’s time in the minors coincides with the Mets having extra days off after their series in London and allows the club to manage his innings total. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 am
  • Heading to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Scott to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old top prospect has pitched well in his first five big-league starts with a 3.90 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 27.2 innings, but with the Mets having three scheduled off days coming up surrounding their two-game series against the Phillies in London next weekend, they'll use the opportunity to limit Scott's innings in his third professional campaign. The 24-year-old right-hander should rejoin the big-league rotation later in the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 am
  • Tosses five frames in no-decision
Scott allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over five innings in a no-decision against Arizona on Thursday.

Advice: Scott gave up a pair of third-inning runs but otherwise kept the Diamondbacks off the scoreboard. He got through only five frames, though, as he was pulled after throwing 91 pitches. The rookie right-hander continues to hold his own in the majors, as he's given up three or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts thus far. Collectively, he's posted a 3.90 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB through 27.2 innings. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:13 pm
  • Christian Scott allows pair over five frames
Christian Scott went five innings and allowed two runs with four strikeouts in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Scott gave up four hits while issuing one walk. The two runs came on a double that scored a pair off the bat of Ketel Marte, and outside of that it was a strong outing for the 24-year-old rookie. Scott has held his own in his rookie campaign with a 3.90 ERA and 21/5 K/BB over 27 2/3 innings. He gets another chance to impress next week with a scheduled tilt against the Nationals. • Dominates Atlanta with 10 punchouts
Gore (4-4) earned the win over Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out 10 batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Gore flustered Atlanta throughout the outing, and his 10 strikeouts marked his second-highest total of the season. The southpaw couldn't extend a three-game quality-start streak, but he did push his stretch of appearances allowing two or fewer earned runs to seven. Gore is in the midst of a breakout campaign, posting a 2.91 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 72:17 K:BB through 58.2 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:06 pm

  • MacKenzie Gore punches out 10 in win
MacKenzie Gore stayed hot with 10 strikeouts across 5 ⅓ innings in a 7-2 win over the Braves on Wednesday. He allowed just one earned run, six hits, and no walks.

Advice: Gore’s breakout continued Wednesday with a tremendous start in Atlanta. The 10 strikeouts caused his pitch count to creep up and forced him from this one before the end of the sixth inning, but the Braves were totally powerless. Even with six hits they had just four hard-hit balls as Gore attacked the zone with fastballs and then made hitters look foolish with sliders, curveballs, and changeups - all of which induced multiple swings and misses. The win was his fourth of the season as his ERA sunk to 2.91. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:37 pm
