    • Joining Triple-A roster soon
Lawlar (thumb) is expected to be activated from Triple-A Reno's 60-day injured list soon, Jesse Borek of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lawlar is working his way back from surgery to repair a ruptured UCL tendon in his right thumb. He's played three rehab games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, going 1-for-7 with a 1:4 K:BB in 11 plate appearances. The 21-year-old will report to Reno in short order with the hope of playing his way back onto the major-league roster. Lawlar went just 4-for-31 during his brief time with the Diamondbacks last season but remains one of the elite prospects in baseball. Geraldo Perdomo (knee) should return from the 10-day injured list before Lawlar gets a look with Arizona, but Lawlar is the club's long-term answer at shortstop once the team decides he's ready to take the reins. • Joining Sunday's lineup
Adames is starting at shortstop and batting cleanup Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: Both Adames and William Contreras were scheduled to receive their first days off of the season Sunday, but they were apparently able to lobby their way into the starting nine. Over the past 11 games, Adames is hitting .372 with six doubles, two homers, 13 RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:32 am

    • Adames, Contreras inserted back into lineup
Willy Adames is hitting fourth and playing shortstop Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: Both Adames and William Contreras were originally scheduled to get their first day off of the season. Nope. The new lineup has Adames in his usual spot at shortstop, and Contreras is hitting second and catching. Kinda weird, but it keeps the streak going for both. Andruw Monasterio and Oliver Dunn were scratched from the lineup, but this does not appear to be injury related. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:25 am

    • Adames, Contreras both get first day of season off
Willy Adames is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: For the first time all season, Adames will get day off. This is also true for William Contreras, as the catcher/backstop is getting a chance to enjoy a game from the bench for the first time. In Adames’ place, the Brewers will give a start at shortstop to Joey Ortiz, while Andruw Monastario is the starting designated hitter with Gary Sanchez behind the plate. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:54 am

    • Receiving first day off
Adames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Adames started the first 58 games of the season at shortstop for the Brewers but will take a seat for Sunday's series finale versus Chicago. The 28-year-old has carried a hot bat over the past 11 contests with two homers, 13 RBI and a 1.100 OPS in 43 at-bats. Joey Ortiz will shift to shortstop while Oliver Dunn receives a start at third base. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:48 am

    • Willy Adames singles home game-winner in extras
Willy Adames drove in three runs including the game-winner in the 10th to give the Brewers a 4-3 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Adames had three hits in the contest, and the biggest was a game-winning infield single off Michael Kopech in the bottom of the 10th. Adames has been an RBI machine throughout the year, and is already up to 42 on the season. He’s also added nine homers and eight steals, so it’s fair to say Adames has been more fantasy helper than hurter so far in 2024. Rotoworld Saturday, 5:18 pm

    • Jordan Lawlar (thumb) starts rehab assignment
Diamondbacks SS prospect Jordan Lawlar (thumb) hit a two-run double on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Arizona’s Rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.

Advice: Lawlar is working his way back from late-March thumb surgery, which was expected to keep him sideline for at least 8-10 weeks. The 21-year-old is one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire fantasy landscape and figures to be ready to return to Arizona at some point later this summer. • Adames has two-hit game in win against Cubs
Willy Adames went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Adames extended his hitting streak to nine games. He continues to have a really nice season for the Brewers in his last year before free agency. The 28-year-old shortstop is up to .260 with a .796 OPS, nine home runs and eight steals this season. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:28 pm

    • Begins rehab in ACL
Lawlar (thumb) started at shortstop and went 0-for-2 with a walk for the Diamondbacks' affiliate in the Arizona Complex League on Wednesday.

Advice: Lawlar began a rehab assignment Wednesday, playing five innings in the field. He's been working his way back from a ruptured UCL tendon in his right thumb, and his rehab recently involved at-bats at the team's training facility at Salt River Fields. The plan, as outlined by Arizona farm director Shaun Larkin to Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports, is for Lawlar to get in 2-to-3 weeks of game action before joining Triple-A Reno.
