• Spotted in walking boot
Wacha was wearing a walking boot on his left foot following Friday's loss to the Padres, Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star reports.

Advice: Wacha took a 90-mph line drive off his left foot during the first at-bat of Friday's contest. He was able to remain in the game and pitch 5.1 innings of two-run ball while logging two strikeouts, but it definitely seems like his shot to the foot bothered him. The 32-year-old right-hander said after the game that he will undergo imaging Saturday, at which point he and the Royals will have a better idea of how severe the damage is. • Erick Fedde surrenders nine hits, four runs vs. MIL
Erick Fedde surrendered four runs over five innings with eight strikeouts in a no-decision against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Fedde gave up nine of the 23 hits the Brew Crew picked up Friday, and four of the six walks. The right-hander was able to at least pick up some punchouts, but that’s the end of the positives. Fedde was outstanding last week with 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball against Baltimore, but he’s just not good enough to rely on consistent results. He’s scheduled for a chance at redemption against Boston next week. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

  • Tobias Myers allows five over 4 1/3 vs. White Sox
Tobias Myers didn’t factor into the decision Friday against the White Sox while allowing five runs over 5 1/3 innings.

Advice: Myers gave up three runs in the third, and another two came across and were charged to him two frames later. The 25-year-old allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out four in a well below-average start against one of the worst teams in baseball. It would be a mistake to trust him as a streamer against the Phillies next week, assuming he stays in the rotation. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

  • Yields four runs
Sears (4-4) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Advice: Sears allowed three runs through two innings but settled in to give Oakland a decent outing. It wasn't enough as the A's were limited to two runs in the loss. Sears has given up four runs in three of his last five starts, resulting in. 4.18 ERA during that span. He generated 14 whiffs Friday, his best total since recording a season-high 16 on April 27. Sears now owns a 4.01 ERA and a 45:19 K:BB through 67.1 innings. His next start is projected to be at home against the Mariners. Rotowire.com Today, 9:02 pm

  • Dylan Cease surrenders three runs to Royals
Dylan Cease allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Cease was pretty great to begin the year, posting a 2.19 ERA in his first eight starts, but this makes four straight outings that have missed the quality-start threshold. On the plus side, his peripherals have remained pretty strong during the downturn. There isn’t much reason to think this will last. Rotoworld Today, 9:00 pm

  • Robert Suárez gets one-out save against Royals
Robert Suárez retired one of the two batters he faced for a save Friday against the Royals.

Advice: The Padres were up 11-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth, but Stephen Kolek gave up hits to six of the eight batters he faced. That created a save situation for Suárez with the bases loaded in an 11-6 game. Suárez gave up a two-run single to the first batter he faced and then retired Nelson Velázquez for his 17th and easiest save of the year. Rotoworld Today, 9:00 pm
  • James McArthur gives up four runs in blowing save
James McArthur gave up four runs without retiring a batter in the eighth to take a blown save Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Josh Schreiber, McArthur and Will Klein combined to give up nine runs in the eighth after the Royals entered the inning with a 3-2 lead. The good news for McArthur was that Schreiber, the Royals’ best alternative in the closer’s role, was pretty much equally ineffective tonight. Schrieber still has a big ERA lead on McArthur (3.00 to 5.32) and McArthur is up to four blown saves, so a change might be considered. Rotoworld Today, 9:00 pm
  • Yields run, earns save
Iglesias allowed a run in the ninth inning while picking up a save against Oakland on Friday.

Advice: Iglesias notched his 14th save of the year with a fascinating outing. He gave up a leadoff double to Zach Gelof before recording three outs on three consecutive pitches. Gelof would come in to score after two straight groundouts but Atlanta secured the 4-2 win. Iglesias has converted six straight save chances and owns a 2.53 ERA through 21.1 innings. • Michael Wacha in walking boot after Friday’s start
Michael Wacha was seen in a walking boot in the Royals’ clubhouse following Friday night’s start against the Padres.

Advice: Wacha was hit in the foot by a line drive by the very first batter during Friday’s start. He wound up staying in the game and giving up just two runs over 5 1/3 innings of work, but was sore after the game. The right-hander told reporters after the game that he’ll get some scans done on Saturday to see if any damage was done, but that he’s hoping for good news. Expect the Royals to provide an update on his status after Saturday’s imaging. Rotoworld Today, 8:49 pm
