• Blaze Alexander batting lead-off for Diamondbacks
Blaze Alexander is making his first start in the leadoff spot in the lineup on Monday, starting at designated hitter against the Dodgers.

Advice: Jake McCarthy has been hitting lead-off for Arizona over the last week, but he doesn’t play against left-handed pitchers. The last time he sat, it was Ketel Marte who hit lead-off, but today the Diamondbacks will give Alexander a chance. The rookie is slashing .322/.385/.559 with three home runs, 10 runs scored, and 13 RBI in 20 games this season. If he’s now going to also lead-off against left-handed pitching then his value gets another nice little boost. Randal Grichuk is starting for McCarthy in right field and batting sixth against James Paxton. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Bo Bichette gets a day off on Monday
Bo Bichette is not in the lineup on Monday against the Royals

Advice: It’s been a tough start to the year for Bichette, who is slashing just .210/.263/.305 with one home run and three steals. Bichette continues to make a solid amount of contact, but he also continues to chase pitches outside of the zone at a high rate. Even though he makes contact on those pitches, and has a lower swinging strike rate than last year, he’s now hitting the ball on the ground over 52 percent of the time and has just a 2.3 percent barrel rate. His approach may need to change in order for him to get back to his high batting average. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at shortstop and betting eighth in his place. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

  • Steps out of starting nine
Bichette is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Advice: The Blue Jays haven't indicated that Bichette is nursing an injury or dealing with an illness, so his absence from the lineup for Monday's series opener likely amounts to a maintenance day. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will slide over from third base to man shortstop in place of Bichette, who had started in every game dating back to April 2. Bichette's day off comes while he's managed just one hit in 18 at-bats over his last five games, dropping his batting average to .210 for the season. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Comes off IL
The Twins reinstated Correa (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Correa ended up spending about two and a half weeks on the IL after being deactivated April 13 with a right intercostal strain. Though he wasn't sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, Correa should immediately take back an everyday role at shortstop as he rejoins the active roster ahead of Monday's series opener versus the White Sox. Outfielder Austin Martin was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 10:58 am

  • Sent to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Martin to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Advice: As anticipated, Martin will forfeit his spot on the 26-man active roster with the Twins reinstating Carlos Correa (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Martin's demotion should clear the way for Trevor Larnach to man left field on an everyday basis, at least against right-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Today, 10:55 am

  • Slated to return Monday
The Twins will activate Correa (oblique) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the White Sox, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: Correa will skip a rehab assignment and go ahead and rejoin the major-league roster instead following a two-plus-week absence with a right intercostal strain. Willi Castro has been operating as the Twins' everyday shortstop since Correa went down with the injury but will now re-enter the mix for starts at third base and also the outfield. • Correa (intercostal) expected to be activated Mon.
Carlos Correa (intercostal) is expected to be activated Monday.

Advice: Nothing is official yet, but Dan Hayes of The Athletic also hears that Austin Martin is expected to be optioned to Triple-A. Correa has been sidelined for a couple of weeks with a right intercostal strain, and will try to help keep the Twins’ hot streak going. Rotoworld Today, 10:24 am

  • Expected to head to minors
The Twins are expected to option Martin to Triple-A St. Paul ahead of Monday's game against the White Sox, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Shortstop Carlos Correa (oblique) is on track to come off the 10-day injured list Monday, and Martin looks like he'll move off the 26-man active roster in a corresponding move. Martin has been a near-everyday player for Minnesota since being called up from Triple-A on March 30 while slashing .226/.294/.371 across 68 plate appearances, but the Twins aren't expected to have regular at-bats available for both him and Trevor Larnach with Correa back in the fold and with Max Kepler recently coming off the IL. As a result, Martin will be the odd man out and head back to Triple-A, while Larnach should continue to play regularly versus right-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Today, 10:19 am

  • Triples in first big-league at-bat
Rivas went 1-for-2 with a triple and a run in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Advice: The rookie, who was just called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, finally had a chance to pay off his eight-plus season of toiling in the minors in his first big-league plate appearance by ripping a three-bagger in the third inning. Julio Rodriguez subsequently plated Rivas with a single, and the latter also rounded out his successful debut by making several impressive defensive plays, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. Rivas' stay with the big-league club should have a good chance to last through J.P. Crawford's (oblique) stay on the injured list, at minimum. Rotowire.com Today, 9:35 am
