• Fills in at shortstop
Duran started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 15-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Duran started in place of the injured Corey Seager (hamstring), who missed a fourth consecutive game. Josh Smith has served as the primary fill-in when Seager's been unavailable this season, but Smith was given a break Tuesday. Duran produced a run on a sacrifice fly in the second inning then popped his second home run of the season in the seventh. He has a modest seven-game hit streak (8-for-25, seven RBI) and hit safely in 14 of the previous 16 games. The Rangers maintain that Seager's injury is not serious and are not considering a stint on the IL. Rotowire.com Today, 4:28 am

  • Swipes bag in return
Lopez went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mets.

Advice: Batting sixth in his return from paternity leave, Lopez created an insurance run for the Marlins in the ninth inning nearly on his own -- he led off the frame with a single, stole second, took third on Francisco Alvarez's throwing error then scored on a sacrifice fly. Lopez extended his hitting streak to seven games in the process. Since taking over the starting job at second base in early May, he's slashing .296/.322/.395 over 24 contests with two homers, four steals, seven runs and 16 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 3:55 am

  • Jordan Lawlar posts three hits, homers at Triple-A
Diamondbacks SS prospect Jordan Lawlar went 3-for-6 with a solo homer and three RBI on Tuesday in his season debut for Triple-A Reno.

Advice: Welcome back, Jordan. The 21-year-old top prospect, who made a late-season cameo last year with the Diamondbacks, is finally healthy after undergoing thumb surgery back in late March and looked impressive in his Triple-A debut following a handful of contests in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League. He’s one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire fantasy landscape and remains a top-15 overall prospect for dynasty league purposes. There’s a chance he’s back in Arizona at some point this summer. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 am

  • Nico Hoerner (hand) gets into Tuesday’s contest
Nico Hoerner (hand) made an appearance as a defensive replacement during Tuesday’s loss to the Rays.

Advice: Hoerner appears likely to avoid a trip to the injured list as he attempts to play through a small fracture in his right hand. The 27-year-old second baseman was held out of the lineup on Tuesday for the fourth straight contest, but was able to come off the bench as a defensive replacement in the late innings. The biggest question for fantasy managers is whether the lingering hand issue will impact his offensive performance moving forward, even if he doesn’t wind up requiring a lengthy absence. • Nearly hits cycle in debut
Lawlar went 3-for-6 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Advice: Lawlar, who was activated off the injured list and assigned to Reno on Tuesday, made his season debut with the Aces and flirted with a cycle. He doubled in his first at-bat then homered in the fifth inning. Lawlar was introduced to Triple-A in 2023, when he posted a .358/.438/.612 line over 16 games before making his MLB debut last September. Rotowire.com Today, 3:14 am

  • Back from injury
Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 9-4 victory over the Angels.

Advice: Perdomo was activated off the injured list Tuesday and took his spot at shortstop. His return means less work for Kevin Newman and Blaze Alexander, both of whom remained on the roster following Perdomo's activation. Rotowire.com Today, 3:02 am

  • Logs steal in loss
Garcia went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Garcia has three steals over his last seven games, but he's gone just 5-for-32 (.156) in that span. He surged at the plate over the second half of May, but it appears he's leveled off again. The third baseman is slashing .251/.299/.373 with 16 steals, five home runs, 36 RBI and 43 runs scored over 66 contests out of the leadoff spot for the Royals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 pm

  • Resumes rehab assignment
Ahmed (wrist) returned to Triple-A Sacramento's lineup for Tuesday's game versus Reno and went 0-for-4.

Advice: Ahmed was pulled off of his rehab assignment after his first game June 1 due to a setback with his sprained left wrist. The shortstop is rehabbing alongside Marco Luciano (hamstring), though there's no guarantee either player will have a starting job waiting for them once cleared to return to the majors. • Begins rehab assignment
Luciano (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Triple-A Sacramento's game versus Reno on Tuesday.

Advice: This game marked the beginning of Luciano's rehab assignment after he landed on the injured list May 31. The infielder played second base for Sacramento, with Nick Ahmed (wrist) also on a rehab assignment and occupying shortstop. Given the timeline of those two players rehabbing together, it's possible Luciano stays at Triple-A once healthy, as the Giants likely value Brett Wisely's versatility a bit more for the major-league roster.
