• Optioned to AAA
Shewmake was optioned to Triple-AAA Charlotte on Friday.

Advice: Shewmake will move back to Charlotte with Danny Mendick (back) being reinstated from the 10-day IL on Friday. The 26-year-old struggled during 29 games in the bigs, slashing .125/.134/.203 with one walk across 67 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 12:50 pm

  • Sent back down
Harris was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

Advice: Harris was called up Wednesday and fired off 3.1 scoreless frames Thursday against the Astros. However, he'll go right back to Triple-A on Friday to make room for Brandon Bielak, who was acquired via trade Thursday. In 25 innings at Las Vegas, Harris owns a 7.56 ERA with 23 walks allowed. • Losing playing time
Mullins is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Advice: Mullins will be on the bench for the third time in the last five games despite the O's facing a right-handed pitcher Friday. The left-handed Mullins is amid a massive slump, batting .085 with a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in 63 plate appearances since April 22. Colton Cowser has been earning more work in center field and will start there Friday while Kyle Stowers and Ryan O'Hearn fill out the outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 12:11 pm

  • Optioned to AAA
Lipscomb was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Advice: Lipscomb will cede his big-league spot to Joey Gallo (shoulder), who was activated from the 10-day IL on Friday. Lipscomb has been the Nationals' everyday third baseman during the last few weeks and owns a .252/.331/.290 slash line with 10 stolen bases on the year. Nick Senzel and Ildemaro Vargas should see plenty of action at third base moving forward. Rotowire.com Today, 11:48 am

  • Activated from IL
Gallo (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Advice: As expected, Gallo will return to the big-league roster after being placed on the 10-day IL on April 27 with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder. In a corresponding move, Trey Lipscomb was optioned to Triple-A Rochester. Before the injury, Gallo was seeing most of his work in right field, and he should continue to play in right since Lane Thomas (knee) is still sidelined. Rotowire.com Today, 11:43 am

  • Mushinski called up Friday
Astros recalled LHP Parker Mushinski from Triple-A Sugar Land.

Advice: No word yet on a corresponding move. Mushinski has an 11.25 ERA in four appearances with the Astros this season. The 28-year-old has appeared in 24 games with Houston over the past three years and has a 5.88 ERA. Rotoworld Today, 9:23 am
  • Headed back to majors
The Astros will recall Mushinski from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Friday's game versus the Brewers, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: There's no word yet on what the corresponding move will be, but Shawn Dubin threw three innings Thursday so he is a candidate to be options. Mushinski has been knocked around for seven runs (five earned) over four relief innings during his time in the majors this season. Rotowire.com Today, 9:08 am
  • Opportunity drying up
Jankowski started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Cleveland.

Advice: Jankowski made his third consecutive start and fourth in the last five games, but his opportunities may be coming to close. Evan Carter (lower back stiffness) is expected to return to the lineup Friday against the Angels, which is expected to move Jankowski back to a bench role. Additionally, the Angels' projected starter Friday is lefty Tyler Anderson, which would likely preclude Jankowski from making a fourth straight start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:47 am

  • Cedric Mullins gets pulled for pinch-hitter
Cedric Mullins, who was dropped to ninth in Baltimore’s lineup, was lifted for a pinch-hitter after opening up 0-for-2 on Wednesday.

Advice: Mullins is 0-for-16 with eight strikeouts in his last five games and 5-for-59 with a 19/4 K/BB in his last 18 games. He was off to fine start before that, but the Orioles seem to have real concerns about the way he’s performing, given that he was just held out of the starting lineup twice against righties over the weekend. He’s down to .183/.234/.349 for the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:14 pm
