    • Pops fourth homer
Robert went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Robert did his damage in the opening inning to tally his fourth home run of the season and second in four games since returning from the injured list. Manager Pedro Grifol suggested that Robert would require regular rest days, though he has started every matchup since being activated and has gone a combined 3-for-16 with eight strikeouts. • Quick absence expected
Pham (ankle) was scheduled to start running again Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pham hit the injured list Tuesday after suffering a sprained ankle Sunday. However, manager Pedro Grifol noted that Pham already feels better and is only expected to be on the injured list for the short term. He can be activated as early as June 13, though it's unclear if that is a realistic timeline. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Smacks second homer
Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Abreu has gone a modest 3-for-17 over six games in June, but two of those hits have been homers. The first baseman has made limited progress at the plate since he was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land, but he's seeing steady playing time anyway. He's slashing .122/.171/.194 with two homers, six RBI and eight runs scored over 105 plate appearances in 2024. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Keeps slugging Friday
Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and added a two-run homer in the seventh. He's gone yard in four straight contests, an impressive run of power after he went 39 games without a homer prior to this surge. The catcher is at a .258/.285/.416 slash line, seven long balls, 32 RBI, 22 runs scored and 10 doubles over 56 contests. With Kyle Tucker (lower leg) going on the injured list Friday, Yordan Alvarez has seen more time in the field, giving the Astros the option of moving Diaz to designated hitter rather than having him at catcher full-time in the short term. • Back in majors
The Astros recalled Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kyle Tucker landed on the injured list earlier Friday due to a bruised shin, so Loperfido will return to Houston to fill the opening in the Astros' outfield group. The 25-year-old played in 14 games for the Astros earlier in the season, slashing .333/.381/.436 with five RBI through 43 plate appearances before being sent back down May 26. He'll likely start often against right-handed pitchers while filling in for Tucker. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Michael Lorenzen lifted in fifth against Giants
Michael Lorenzen surrendered two runs in 4 1/3 innings versus the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Lorenzen left down 2-0, but the Rangers let him off the hook in the bottom of fifth before going to lose 5-2. It’s the first time in 10 starts this year that Lorenzen has failed to complete five innings and just the second time he hasn’t gone six. He might be booted out of the rotation at some point in the second half if the Rangers ever get completely healthy, but he’s been quite good thus far. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Wilmer Flores homers twice off righty in victory
Wilmer Flores homered twice off Michael Lorenzen in the win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Flores likely only started tonight because of his grand slam off a lefty Thursday, and he wound up hitting his first two homers off a right-hander this season; he came into the game batting ,217./.309/.353 in 97 PA versus righties. The sudden hot streak will probably turn him into a lineup fixture for a spell, but he still only seems like an option in deeper formats. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Report: Astros call up Loperfido to replace Tucker
Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports that the Astros will call up Joey Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Saturday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Loperfido will replace Kyle Tucker, as Tucker was placed on the injured list prior to Friday’s game versus the Halos due to a shin contusion. Loperfido is considered one of the better hitting prospects in the Houston system, and he more than held his own in his previous stint with the Astros with a slash of .333/.381/.436 over 14 games. He’s certainly worthy of consideration for fantasy players. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Delivers walk-off blast
Bleday went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Bleday's blast was the Athletics' fifth hit of the game, but it was enough to earn a walk-off win. The outfielder is batting .294 (10-for-34) over his last nine contests, but this was his first homer since May 24. For the season, he's at a .246/.328/.469 slash line with nine long balls, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored, 18 doubles, three triples and no stolen bases over 65 games. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
