    • Out again Saturday
Hoerner (hamstring) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Saturday marks the fifth game in a row that Hoerner has missed thanks to his sore left hamstring. The Cubs have been hopeful that the infielder would be able to avoid the IL, but manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Hoerner may need to spend time on the injured list if his hamstring continues to bother him. Nick Madrigal and Miles Mastrobuoni will once again serve as the Cubs' middle infielders Saturday. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

    • Oneil Cruz getting day off Saturday vs. Cubs
Oneil Cruz is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Cubs.

Advice: It’s a routine off day for Cruz with lefty Shota Imanaga toeing the rubber for Chicago. The 25-year-old shortstop has hit a small rough patch of late, hitting .207 (6-for-29) over his last seven contests. He does have two homers and one steal during that stretch, but has also struck out eight times with only one walk as well. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) may face hitters next week
Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake told reporters Saturday that Gerrit Cole (elbow) may progress to facing hitters next week.

Advice: Blake added that Cole was throwing in the low 90’s during Saturday’s bullpen session, elaborating that he’s a notch ahead of a typical spring training progression, but remains several weeks from returning. The 33-year-old reigning AL Cy Young Award winner isn’t expected back until sometime in mid-June. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

    • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) not in Saturday’s lineup
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains absent from the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Pirates.

Advice: There’s been zero indication that Hoerner will wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, but he’s out of Chicago’s lineup for the fifth straight game on Saturday afternoon due to ongoing left hamstring tightness. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but there’s a possibility the Cubs will have to send him to the injured list if he’s unable to return this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 8:38 am

    • Coughs up five runs
Peralta (3-2) allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against Houston.

Advice: All five runs against Peralta came on Houston home runs; Jake Meyers knocked a two-run shot in the second inning followed by Jeremy Pena's three-run blast in the fifth. Peralta forced 13 whiffs -- including seven with his slider -- and has generated double-digit swinging strikes in each of his nine starts this season. After beginning the year with a 1.90 ERA through 23.2 frames, he's posted an ugly 6.23 ERA over his last five outings. Peralta's next start is lined up to be in Miami next week. • José Ramirez hits game-winning homer Friday
José Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in a win over the Twins on Friday.

Advice: It’s been a trying season for Ramirez with his OBP hanging right around .300 despite 10 home runs, 38 RBI, and seven stolen bases. His batted ball metrics have also tailed off for the second time in three seasons, but his counting stats remain spectacular. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:48 pm
    • Slugs 10th homer
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Ramirez's long ball gave the Guardians the lead for good in the eighth inning. It was his 10th homer of the year, five of which he's hit over the last 12 contests, a span that's also seen him earn 13 RBI and three stolen bases. The third baseman is slashing .249/.301/.463 with 38 RBI, 28 runs scored, seven steals, six doubles and a triple through 44 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:46 pm
    • Doubles, swipes a bag in return
Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a double, a steal, a run scored and a walk in Friday's win over Texas.

Advice: Rengifo hit second in his first game since May 6 after a brief stint on the injured list. He ripped a double in the first inning before drawing a walk, stealing second base and scoring a run in the third. The utility bat was on a 19-for-46 (.413) tear over his last 15 games before landing on the IL. Rengifo is slashing .326/.379/.463 with nine extra-base hits and 10 steals through 29 games. • Freddy Peralta allows eight hits, five runs in loss
Freddy Peralta was charted for five runs over five innings while picking up a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: Both Hunter Brown and Peralta gave up all of their damage via the long-ball in this contest, and in Peralta’s case, he gave up a two-run homer to Jake Meyers and a three-run blast to Jeremy Peña. Outside of those blasts the right-hander was mostly effective, but damage done. It’s the second time in five starts he’s allowed at least five runs, and a 1.90 ERA on April 19 has ballooned to 4.17. He’ll look to get back on track against the Marlins next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:55 pm
