    • Swats homer in defeat
Pillar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: Pillar took Bryan Abreu deep in the seventh to put the Angels back up 5-4 and extend his hitting streak to eight games. He's been on an absolute tear since signing with the Angels on April 30. In the month of May, Pillar is slashing .426/.460/.766 with four homers, 17 RBI, 12 runs and a 2:9 BB:K through 14 games. Prior to his release from the White Sox on April 26, the 35-year-old was slashing just .160/.290/.360 with a homer, four RBI, a run scored and a 4:8 BB:K through 17 games. Rotowire.com Today, 3:59 am
    • Torres’ three-run homer not enough in Yanks loss
Gleyber Torres went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Torres’ three-run homer in the seventh gave the Yankees their first runs of the evening after they spent the first six innings being stifled by Bryan Woo. Torres’ homer, his third on the season, ended shutout but didn’t prove to be enough for the Yankees, who were held scoreless the rest of the way. Torres is slashing a mere .223/.301/.310 on the season and is hitting .227 in the month of May. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:19 pm
    • Follow-up exam on June 5
Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) will have a follow-up exam on June 5, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: That will be the four-week mark of Encarnacion-Strand's projected 4-to-6 week timetable as he recovers from a fracture in his right wrist, so it would appear he's not going to make it back on the early side of that timeline. Encarnacion-Strand would presumably require a rehab assignment before returning. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:55 pm
    • Playing Tuesday
Ortiz (foot) is batting fifth and playing third base Tuesday against Miami.

Advice: Ortiz was hit in the foot by a pitch during Monday's loss but won't be forced to miss any time after his X-rays came back clean. Since April 26, Ortiz is batting .328 with five home runs as the Brewers' everyday third baseman. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:48 pm

    • Taking seat Tuesday
Carter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carter will avoid a matchup with southpaw Ranger Suarez on Tuesday. Instead, Ezequiel Duran, Leody Taveras and Derek Hill will fill the outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:41 pm
    • Yainer Diaz does 2-for-4, scores twice in loss
Yainer Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Angels on Monday.

Advice: Diaz was also robbed of a possible homer by Jo Adell at the right field wall in the ninth. That was actually his softest hit ball of the night. His EVs in the game were 110.7 mph, 107.8 mph, 103.7 mph and 98.4 mph. His hard-hit rate now stands at 51%, which is particularly impressive in combination with a 14% strikeout rate. • X-rays come back negative
X-rays on Ortiz's right foot came back negative following Monday's game against Miami, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ortiz appeared to be in good spirits following Monday's loss, and he stated that his foot was feeling good, per Leckie. The Brewers will re-evaluate Ortiz on Tuesday morning to determine his availability moving forward. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:10 pm

    • X-rays negative on Joey Ortiz’s foot
Joey Ortiz said X-rays on his sore right foot taken after Monday’s game came back negative.

Advice: There’s always the chance that X-rays taken right after the incident fail to pick something up, but hopefully, this means Ortiz will be fine to play again in a day or two. He was hit on the right foot by a pitch Monday, though he stayed in to finish the game. Rotoworld Monday, 7:03 pm

    • Headed for X-rays
Ortiz is getting X-rays on his right foot after being hit by a pitch in the fourth inning Monday against the Marlins, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Ortiz was able to finish out the game, but it was still bothering him in the clubhouse after the loss, and skipper Pat Murphy noted that the injury may be more serious than initially thought, per Paige Leckie of MLB.com. Andruw Monasterio put together a multi-hit evening and could be in line for more looks at the hot corner if Ortiz requires a trip to the injured list. Oliver Dunn is another option at third base, though it would require Milwaukee to elevate him from Triple-A Nashville. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:57 pm
