    • Returns to mound
Pressly threw a scoreless inning without allowing a baserunner and striking out one Monday against the Angels.

Advice: Pressly was out for the team's weekend series with finger soreness, but he showed no ill effects in his return. He entered the game in the eighth inning with the Astros down three, presumably because the team wanted to get him some work after the layoff. Pressly has struggled a bit of late, allowing an earned run in half of his last four appearances. He has a 5.19 ERA on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:22 am

    • Ryan Pressly returns from finger injury
Ryan Pressly returned to the mound Monday and worked a scoreless inning versus the Angels.

Advice: Pressly hadn’t pitched in six days because of a sore finger. He has a 5.19 ERA in his setup role this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm

    • Available to pitch Monday
Astros manager Joe Espada said that Pressly (finger) will be available out of the bullpen Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pressly has been off limits for a few days while dealing with soreness in a finger on his right hand, but it seems he's fully recovered now. The veteran reliever has struggled this season, collecting a 5.51 ERA and 1.78 WHIP through 16.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:19 pm

    • Ryan Pressly (finger) unavailable again on Sunday
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters after Sunday’s game that Ryan Pressly (finger) was unavailable once again for their contest against the Brewers.

Advice: The Astros remain hopeful that it’s simply a day-to-day type of situation and that Pressly won’t require a trip to the injured list. Expect Bryan Abreu to continue to work in the eighth inning while Pressly is shelved. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:44 pm

    • Ryan Pressly (finger) throwing bullpen Sunday
Ryan Pressly (finger) is throwing a bullpen session before Sunday’s game against the Brewers.

Advice: Pressly has been unavailable due to a finger issue, but the right-hander could be available in the late innings for Houston if the bullpen session goes well. He should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:21 am

    • Ryan Pressly dealing with finger soreness
Ryan Pressly is day-to-day with right finger soreness.

Advice: Astros manager Joe Espada didn’t seem to think it was a big deal when talking to reporters afterwards, but it sounds like Pressly could wind up getting a few days off as a result. There should be an update on his status at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:41 am

    • Battling finger soreness
Manager Joe Espada said Pressly was unavailable for Friday's game against the Brewers due to a sore finger on his right (throwing) hand, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Pressly's finger issue doesn't appear to be anything too serious, though it may prevent him from pitching for another day or two. The 35-year-old right-hander currently holds a 5.51 ERA and 1.78 WHIP through 16.1 innings and has not appeared in a game since Tuesday. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:32 pm

    • Alex Lange gives up four runs in relief
Alex Lange gave up four runs and five hits in two-thirds of an inning of relief Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: The good news for Lange is that the Tigers probably weren’t winning the game anyway, as he came on in the seventh with the team already down 4-0. Still, this was ugly; after getting the final out of the seventh, he retired just one of eight batters in the eighth. He gave up almost as many hits today as the six he had previously allowed in 14 innings this season, and his ERA, which was deflated by the fact that six of the seven runs he’d given up had been ruled unearned, went from 0.67 to 3.07. This can’t help his standing in the saves mix in Detroit. Rotoworld May 12, 3:03 pm

    • Overcomes back injury
Pressly (back) was credited with his fifth hold of the season and gave up one earned run on one hit and one walk across 0.2 innings in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Astros manager Joe Espada disclosed Wednesday that Pressly was managing a lower-back issue, but the reliever's appearance one day later suggests that Houston isn't overly concerned about the injury. Pressly has continued to make bats miss with 22 strikeouts over 14.1 innings, but he headed into Sunday's series finale in Detroit with a 5.65 ERA and 1.74 WHIP over his 16 appearances out of the Houston bullpen.
