    • Strikes out 12 in loss
Glasnow (6-5) took the loss Sunday against the Yankees, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out 12 in six innings.

Advice: Nearly all the damage against Glasnow came via the long ball. The Yankees opened up the scoring with a solo home run in the third and tacked on an additional run before the inning ended. Trent Grisham later slugged a three-run blast in the sixth to put the Yankees up 5-3 and they would not relinquish the lead from there. The eight hits allowed tied Glasnow's season high and he's now given up at least a home run in five of his last six starts, though it was also his fifth time striking out at least 10 hitters. The 30-year-old will carry a 3.24 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 116:24 K:BB (86 innings) into his next start, which projects to be against the Royals over the weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:27 am

    • Tyler Glasnow strikes out 12 in loss to Yankees
Tyler Glasnow had mixed results in Sunday night’s loss to the Yankees, giving up five runs on eight hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, Glasnow piled up 12 strikeouts on the night while issuing just one free pass. Nearly all of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Oswaldo Cabrera belting a solo shot in the third inning and Trent Grisham slugging a go-ahead three-run shot in the sixth. The 30-year-old hurler got a whopping 22 swings and misses in the ballgame — 12 on his slider alone — while registering an elite CSW of 40 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a 3.24 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and a 116/24 K/BB ratio (86 innings) over Saturday’s matchup against the Royals. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:56 pm

    • Jon Gray likely to start Wednesday vs. Dodgers
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that Jon Gray is likely to start Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Bochy said that Gray is written “in pencil” to start that game, so it’s not a lock that the right-hander will get the ball in that contest. The right-hander threw 2 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball Saturday in relief after being activated off the 15-day injured list. Gray has been very effective when healthy in 2024 with a 2.12 ERA and 60/18 K/BB over 59 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:06 am

    • Fires first career shutout
Gausman (5-4) picked up the win Saturday, giving up five hits and a walk in a complete-game shutout during Toronto's 7-0 victory over Oakland. He struck out 10.

Advice: It was the first shutout of Gausman's career, and the veteran right-hander was dominant all afternoon, firing 76 of 109 pitches for strikes while tying his season high in Ks. He's produced four quality starts in his last five trips to the mound, lowering his ERA on the season to 4.00 with a 1.25 WHIP and 69:16 K:BB through 69.2 innings. Gausman will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:44 pm
    • Sharp in return
Gray allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over 2.1 scoreless innings in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Gray appeared in relief of Andrew Heaney on Saturday in the former's first appearance since May 21, after he was placed on the IL with a groin strain. The right-hander certainly looked healthy, as he struck out four of the nine batters he faced. Overall, Gray is 2-2 with a 2.12 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 60:18 K:BB across 59.1 innings this year. He's currently scheduled to rejoin the rotation next week on the road versus the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:46 pm

    • Kevin Gausman whiffs 10 in complete game shutout
Kevin Gausman struck out 10 in a complete-game shutout of the Athletics on Saturday for the win.

Advice: Gausman was outstanding on Saturday, shutting out the A’s in a complete game, his first of his 12-year career. He scattered five hits and walked one batter while striking out 10 on 17 whiffs. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 4.00 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and a 69/16 K/BB ratio across 69 2/3 innings into a start against the Guardians in Toronto on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:20 pm
    • Rangers activate Jon Gray for Saturday return
Rangers activated RHP Jon Gray from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Rangers skipper Bruce Bochy told reporters Saturday there’s a strong possibility Gray pitches in relief before rejoining the club’s starting rotation next week when the club travels to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers. The 32-year-old veteran righty has been out since late May with a right groin strain. He’s pitched extremely well this season with a sparkling 2.21 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 56/17 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (11 appearances, 10 starts). Rotoworld Saturday, 10:01 am

    • Activated off IL
Gray (groin) was activated off the 15-day injured list ahead of Saturday's game against the Giants, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Gray landed on the injured list May 23 due to a right groin strain. He started in 10 games prior to the injury, going 2-2 with a 2.21 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 56:17 K:BB over 57 frames. Manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that there is a good chance Gray pitches in relief before his next start, which will likely be during the Rangers' upcoming road series against the Dodgers, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. • Stuck with loss in quality start
Steele (0-3) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings as the Cubs were downed 3-2 by the Reds. He struck out seven.

Advice: The southpaw pitched well in his second quality start of the season, generating 30 called or swinging strikes among his 90 pitches, but a lack of run support kept him out of the win column once again. Steele appears to be rounding into form after missing all of April with a hamstring strain, and over his last three starts he sports a 1.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB through 19 innings. He'll look for that first victory of 2024 in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:17 am
