The Rockies placed Bouchard (ankle) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Bouchard was diagnosed with a sprained right ankle immediately following his removal from Wednesday's game, and it will officially cost him at least 10 days. He'll be joined on the IL by Kris Bryant (ribs), while Greg Jones and Michael Toglia will come up from Triple-A Albuquerque to help replenish Colorado's outfield depth. • Rockies place Sean Bouchard on 10-day IL
Rockies placed OF Sean Bouchard on the 10-day injured list with a right ankle sprain.

Advice: The 28-year-old was injured during Wednesday night’s game and will now miss at least the next 10 days as he recovers from the ankle issue. He was only playing part-time for the Rockies since getting called up and was slashing just .203/.318/.324 in 25 games with a 30 percent strikeout rate. Greg Jones will be called up to take his place on the active roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:08 pm

    • Diagnosed with ankle sprain
Bouchard suffered a right high-ankle sprain during Wednesday's game against the Reds, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Bouchard suffered the injury during the eighth inning of Wednesday's contest when his foot slipped off first base following a sacrifice bunt. He'll almost certainly have to spend time on the injured list, opening the door for Jake Cave to make regular starts in left field for the Rockies. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:45 pm

    • Sean Bouchard leaves game with injury Wednesday
Sean Bouchard was pulled from Wednesday afternoon’s battle against the Reds due to an apparent injury.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder twisted either his ankle or his foot as he fell off of first base in the eighth inning. He’ll head for further evaluation to determine the severity of the injury. Expect the Rockies to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available. • Exits with injury
Bouchard was removed from Wednesday's game against the Reds with an apparent foot injury, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Bouchard's foot slipped off first base once he reached the bag on a sacrifice bunt during the eighth inning. He had to be helped off the field and into the Rockies' clubhouse, where the team will presumably take him in for imaging. Brenton Doyle, normally a regular in the lineup, entered as Bouchard's replacement Wednesday, but Jake Cave would likely see an increase in playing time should Bouchard require a trip to the IL. • Swipes fifth bag
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Hitting third against rookie lefty DJ Herz, Nimmo reached base three times in a game for the first time since May 5. The on-base machine is batting just .222 on the season, but he sports a .350 OBP thanks to a 13.4 percent walk rate, his highest mark since 2021. Nimmo's added seven homers, five steals, 31 runs and 31 RBI in 58 games to his ledger. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:34 am
    • Out of lineup Tuesday
Bouchard isn't part of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cincinnati.

Advice: Bouchard will give way to the lefty-hitting Jake Cave in left field Tuesday with RHP Frankie Montas on the mound for the Reds. While Bouchard remains the Rockies' preferred left fielder due to Jordan Beck (hand) being sidelined, Bouchard is still expected to cede work to Cave and Hunter Goodman on occasion. • Abreu (ankle) hopeful for minimum stint on IL
Wilyer Abreu (ankle) told reporters Tuesday that he’s hopeful he can return from the injured list after the minimum 10 days passes.

Advice: Abreu was placed on the 10-day injured list with his ankle sprain prior to Tuesday’s game. The outfielder told reporters that an MRI revealed a good deal of inflammation, but no structural damage. The Red Sox will obviously take the necessary precautions, but there’s a chance Abreu is back as the starting right fielder for the Red Sox in the middle of June. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:52 pm

    • Sent to 10-day IL
The Red Sox placed Abreu on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right ankle sprain, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe, Abreu is hoping to return in the minimum 10 days after he sprained his ankle in the Red Sox's dugout during Sunday's game against the Tigers. Bobby Dalbec drew the start in Abreu's usual spot in right field Tuesday, but one of Rob Refsnyder and Tyler O'Neill (knee) should serve as the primary option at the position once O'Neill returns from the IL later this week.
