    • Triston Casas (rib) takes dry swings on Saturday
Triston Casas (rib) was able to take dry swings for the first time on Saturday without any issue.

Advice: It’s unclear how many times he’ll have to repeat the process before he’s able to face live pitching, but it’s encouraging to hear that he’s swinging the bat once again. The 24-year-old slugger is hopeful that he’ll be able to return in early July. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm

    • Blasts homer in win
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball, Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests. The first baseman has a .226/.299/.354 slash line with eight home runs and 27 RBI through 65 games this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:28 pm
    • Getting afternoon off
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Mountcastle will receive a breather for the day game after a night game, paving the way for Ryan O'Hearn to pick up a start at first base. The Orioles had included Mountcastle in the lineup for each of the last 14 games, with the 27-year-old slashing .273/.344/.564 with five home runs and 12 RBI over that stretch. • Taking slight swings
Casas (ribs) has begun taking slight swings off a tee, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Casas experienced lingering pain in the rib area when rotating his torso, which delayed his progression. Once Casas' slight swings lead to normal swings in a live batting practice, the Red Sox should have a better gauge for his return. He had originally planned to be ready when eligible June 21, but that has been pushed back to early July. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:09 am

    • Goes deep in win
Naylor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two additional RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

Advice: Naylor had an RBI single and drove in another run with a fielder's choice in the contest. While his bat is still quiet in June -- he's gone 5-for-32 (.156) over eight games -- he's still driven in eight RBI this month. Overall, the first baseman is slashing .224/.307/.483 with 17 homers, 50 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases through 62 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:46 am

    • In lineup against lefty
Lowe started at first base and went 1-for-4 in Tuesday's 15-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Lowe, who had been held out of the starting lineup against the previous three left-handed starters the Rangers faced, was in the starting nine against lefty James Paxton. In those previous three games, Ezequiel Duran started at first base, but he was used at shortstop while Josh Smith was given a break and Corey Seager (hamstring) was unavailable. It's unclear if Lowe's start Tuesday signals that he's back in against lefties, or if it was a special case to give Smith a rest day. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:39 am
    • Josh Naylor has two hits, HR in win
Josh Naylor went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Naylor blooped in a 79 mph single in the third inning that scored a run, but he certainly got all of his home run in the eighth inning, hitting it 425 feet at 109 mph for his 17th home run on the season. The .224 batting average might not be what you were looking for but the power and 50 RBIs have been elite for Naylor this season. He may be sacrificing a bit of average for power, but he also came into this game with a .200 BABIP, which is well below his career mark of .283. The batting average should continue to tick up as the summer goes on. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:40 pm

    • Cora: Triston Casas hasn’t started swinging yet
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Tuesday that Triston Casas (rib) has yet to resume swinging.

Advice: Casas has expressed optimism that he’ll return around early July, but that timeline seems a bit aggressive if he’s yet to be cleared to resume swinging yet. There should be some additional clarity on his return timeline at some point in the near future, but he’s not close at the moment. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:32 pm

    • Still not cleared to swing bat
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday that Casas (ribs) is fielding grounders but hasn't been cleared to swing a bat, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Casas had said previously that he was hoping to begin swinging a bat this past weekend, but he's still not ready to take that step. The first baseman has been aiming for a return to Boston's active roster around July 1, but that date probably represents a best-case scenario since he still has numerous boxes he needs to check before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list.
