This was his 10th multi-hit effort over his last 16 games, a span in which he's batting .356 (26-for-73) with four homers, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base. The shortstop is up to a .294/.328/.481 slash line with eight homers, 24 RBI, 30 runs scored, four steals, 17 doubles and a triple over 55 contests this season.       Ezequiel Tovar went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in a win Friday against the Dodgers.

      Advice: Tovar gave the Rockies a 4-0 lead with a solo homer in the fourth off Walker Buehler. The shortstop has homered eight times in 2024 with five of them coming in May.       Suarez picked up the save Friday against Kansas City. He pitched one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, allowing no runs on one hit.

      Advice: Suarez entered to collect the last out in a bases-loaded jam with a five-run lead. After yielding a two-RBI single to Freddy Fermin, the San Diego closer induced a Nelson Velazquez flyout to secure the win. Suarez is now tied with Emmanuel Clase for second in the majors with 17 saves, trailing Ryan Helsley by one. That created a save situation for Suárez with the bases loaded in an 11-6 game.       MJ Melendez finished 0-for-4 while his teammates were combining to score eight runs Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Melendez will likely turn this around if the Royals stick with him long enough, but at this point, sending him down for 2-3 weeks would make sense.
