    • Effective again Monday
Paxton allowed three hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five scoreless innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton needed 91 pitches to get through five frames, so he wasn't able to record a third straight quality start or hang around long enough for Los Angeles' offense to supply him a run. Nonetheless, the veteran left-hander was very effective, and he flashed some of the swing-and-miss stuff of his peak seasons with 18 whiffs. Since giving up a season-high seven runs (six earned) over 1.2 innings versus Pittsburgh in his first start of June, Paxton has surrendered just two runs across 18 frames over his subsequent three outings. The strikeout numbers have been improving too -- Paxton's two best punchout performances of the campaign have come in his past two starts. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago

    • Paxton tosses five scoreless in no-decision Monday
James Paxton allowed no runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Dodgers’ 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton gave up three hits, walked three and struck out six. He had won his last two starts, but the Dodgers couldn’t score any runs to support him. It was still a good effort from Paxton, who lowered his ERA to 3.39 in the process. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants on the road this weekend.

    • So-so in loss
Povich (0-2) took the loss Monday against Cleveland, yielding three earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Povich allowed four extra-base hits on the night including a solo home run to Jose Ramirez in the sixth inning. Since a brutal MLB debut on June 6 where he allowed six earned runs, the 24-year-old rookie has pitched to a 2.20 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP in 16.1 innings over his past three starts. It remains to be seen if Povich will hold onto his rotation spot when Dean Kremer (triceps) returns from the IL. With Kremer likely to be activated in early July, Povich should make at least one more start, currently scheduled for this weekend against the Rangers. Rotowire.com Today, 7:14 pm

    • Schwellenbach strikes out six in loss Monday
Spencer Schwellenbach allowed for runs in five innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Schwellenbach gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out six. It wasn’t a terrible start considering it was the fifth start of his major league career. All four runs against Schwellenbach came in the fourth inning and the only extra-base hit he allowed was an RBI double to Alec Burleson. Schwellenbach has allowed only two home runs in his five starts. His ERA is 5.40, but his xFIP is much lower at 3.69, which shows that the positives outweigh the negatives so far. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home this weekend.

    • Bryan Woo to undergo MRI on ailing hamstring
Bryan Woo will undergo an MRI on his right hamstring on Tuesday.

Advice: Woo didn’t speak after the game. That he’s going for an MRI suggests that even if he gets good news, he’s still going to miss some time. Woo was pulled from his start Monday in the fourth after hurting his leg while throwing a pitch. Rotoworld Today, 7:07 pm

    • Cade Povich fans five in loss to Guardians
Cade Povich was charged with three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Povich predictably couldn’t solve Guardians superstar José Ramírez, who tagged him for a run-scoring single in the opening frame, in addition to a go-ahead solo shot in the sixth inning, which was enough to saddle him with the loss in a low-scoring affair at Camden Yards. He struck out five and only issued one walk. The 24-year-old rookie southpaw has absolutely held his own so far in his first taste of the majors with a respectable 4.15 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 14/10 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings (four starts) for Baltimore. He’ll lock horns with the defending World Series champion Rangers on Saturday in his next outing. He’s not exactly a recommended option for fantasy managers in shallow mixed leagues, but he’s definitely worth monitoring over the next few months. Rotoworld Today, 6:25 pm

    • Bryan Woo exits due to hamstring tightness
Bryan Woo exited his start Monday with right hamstring tightness, according to the Mariners.

Advice: Everything is tightness initially now, so that seemingly positive diagnosis means nothing at the moment. If Woo needs to miss some time, but Mariners might go to Jhonathan Diaz in the rotation. Emerson Hancock is the usual fallback, but he’s dealing with a back problem at the moment. • Nursing hamstring injury
Woo was removed from Monday's game against the Rays due to right hamstring tightness.

Advice: Woo left his start with the team trainer after suffering what looked to be a right leg injury, and he's since been diagnosed with a hamstring issue. The team should have a better idea of whether he'll require a trip to the injured list after further evaluation, and he's set to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. • Bryan Woo exits game with right leg injury
Bryan Woo left Monday’s game in the fourth inning with an apparent leg injury.

Advice: Woo grabbed the back of his right leg after throwing a pitch. He was looking good in this one, having struck out three through three scoreless innings. He was charged with an unearned run after leaving in the fourth. Rotoworld Today, 5:05 pm
