      Advice: Chisholm drove in the Marlins first run with a two-out triple off Sonny Gray in the sixth. The Cardinals couldn't retire Chisholm in any of his five at-bats, and he drew three walks in a game for just the second time in his career.       Heliot Ramos went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in the Giants’ 7-6 victory over the Cubs on Monday.

      Advice: Ramos’ home run was his ninth of the season. He’s now homered in three of his last four games and has four consecutive games with at least two hits.       Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-2 with an RBI on Monday in the Marlins’ extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

      Advice: Chisholm walked three times in the extra-inning marathon, reaching base safely in all five of his plate appearances, but it wasn’t enough as Miami lost for the eighth time in their last 10 games since June 7. He also delivered a game-tying RBI triple against Cardinals starter Sonny Gray in the sixth inning. He wasn't very efficient Monday, throwing 60 of 103 pitches for strikes while failing to complete six innings for the second straight outing.       Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored against the Tigers on Monday.

      Ozzie Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Tigers on Monday.

      Advice: The home run was Albies’ fifth of the season. His blast off Shelby Miller with two outs in the eighth inning was the difference in the 2-1 victory for Atlanta.       Max Fried allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 2-1 victory over the Tigers on Monday.



      Advice: Fried gave up four hits, walked three and struck out six. He left the game with two on and one out in the sixth inning, but Jesse Chavez escaped the jam without further damage. It was a solid start for Fried, though the Braves couldn’t provide him with any run support while he was in the game. He continues to have a nice season as he lowered his ERA to 3.11 with the effort. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road this weekend.

    • Bridges gap to closer for hold
      Hudson earned a hold against Kansas City on Sunday, striking out two batters in a perfect eighth inning.

      Advice: Tyler Glasnow gave Los Angeles seven shutout frames, and manager Dave Roberts then turned to Hudson to protect a three-run lead. The veteran reliever did so without any trouble, retiring all three batters he faced on 10 pitches. Hudson has been excellent for the Dodgers this season, posting a 1.93 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 31:3 K:BB over 28 innings while recording 10 holds, three saves and three wins.
