• Registers 11th save
Munoz earned a save against the Astros on Monday, striking out two batters in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Munoz had just a one-run lead to work with when he came into the game in the ninth inning, but he made things look easy with a perfect frame. The right-hander now was nine straight successful save conversions since blowing his lone save of the season against Colorado on April 21. Munoz has given up just one earned run over his past 14 appearances and has recorded an impressive 21:2 K:BB across 16 innings during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 pm
  • Keeps rolling for 16th save
Suarez earned a save against the Marlins on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Suarez was summoned in the ninth frame to protect a one-run lead and had no trouble doing so, retiring the side in order on 14 pitches. The right-hander came into the campaign with a loose grip on the ninth-inning role for the Padres but has emerged as one of the league's top first-half closers with 16 saves (in 16 chances) while posting a 0.73 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB over 24.2 innings. Prior to this season, Suarez had just one save over 71 major-league appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm
  • Settles for no-decision Monday
King allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: King pitched very well in the outing, but San Diego wasn't able to put its second run on the board until the seventh frame, preventing him from picking up a second consecutive victory. The only run the right-hander allowed came on a third-inning homer by Jazz Chisholm. King has given up one or zero runs in three of his past five starts and has racked up a 34:8 K:BB across 30 innings over that span. He's tentatively slated to make his next start in Kansas City. • Grabs first win
Rodriguez (1-0) pitched two perfect innings and struck out one to earn the win over the Phillies on Monday.

Advice: Rodriguez entered the game with the Giants behind by a run in the fifth inning, but he was sharp and the offense pulled ahead while the rookie right-hander was in the game. After allowing six runs (three earned) over his first three appearances, Rodriguez is riding a 7.2-inning scoreless streak over his last five appearances. He's at a 1.76 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB over 15.1 innings this season, and he's also picked up one hold. He has the ability to cover multiple innings, but that is likely to limit him to mostly low-leverage work despite his excellent ratios so far. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:32 pm
  • Andrés Muñoz gets 11th save with perfect ninth
Andrés Muñoz set down the Astros in order in the ninth for his 11th save Monday.

Advice: Muñoz struck out two of the three batters he faced. After picking up holds in three of his first seven appearances, Muñoz has spent the last month and a half only being used in games he had a chance of finishing, earning nine saves in the process. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:31 pm
  • Earns fifth save
Beeks allowed a run on two hits while striking out two and earning a save over Cleveland on Monday.

Advice: Beeks closed out the 8-6 win despite giving up a run for the fourth straight appearance. During that span, his ERA has jumped from 2.11 to 3.20 through 25.1 frames. It was the first time he converted a save since May 13 and he's now five for eight in save chances this season. Beeks is seemingly still the main option to close games for Colorado, though his job is far from secure. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:29 pm

  • Tagged with six runs
Curry (0-1) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks over 3.1 innings Monday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Rockies.

Advice: Curry gave up one run through three frames before a disastrous fourth inning. The Rockies piled on six runs, capped off by Charlie Blackmon's three-run homer. Curry gave up two runs through 9.1 innings in his first two MLB starts this season but saw his ERA jump to 5.68 after Monday's rough outing. He's currently in line for a home matchup with the Nationals this weekend but it's unclear if he'll get another turn in the rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:26 pm

  • Nails down first save
Sims struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Sims had no trouble working through the heart of St. Louis' order to finish off the 3-1 win Monday. It was his first save of the year to go along with his seven holds and 19:10 K:BB through 17.1 innings. Alexis Diaz earned saves Saturday and Sunday, leading to his day off Monday. Sims is not expected to see many save chances in the near future. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:35 pm

  • Suarez picks up 16th save against Marlins Monday
Robert Suarez tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: The save was Suarez’ 16th of the season. He lowered his ERA to 0.73 on the season. While the Padres’ closer situation was ambiguous going into the season, Suarez has grabbed the job and run with it to the point where he’s been one of the best closers in all of fantasy this season.
