    • Skipping start this week
Flaherty will receive a second pain-killing injection in his back and will have his next start pushed back to next week, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Flaherty had been slated to start Wednesday in Minnesota but will be held back until next week for a home matchup against the Guardians. It's worrisome that Flaherty has now had two turns skipped over the last month with back problems, but it appears he will again avoid a stint on the injured list. Keider Montero will start Wednesday in Flaherty's place. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

    • Nearing reinstatement
Hoeing (hamstring) threw 2.2 innings in a rehab appearance for Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday and was seen with the team ahead of Tuesday's game against Boston, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hoeing has completed five rehab outings with Jacksonville and has gone deeper than one inning in three straight appearances. While he hasn't officially been reinstated, it appears as though Hoeing will rejoin the active roster soon considering he's currently with the team in Miami. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Re-evaluated in 1-to-2 weeks
Weathers (finger) will be re-evaluated in 1-to-2 weeks in hopes of being cleared to begin a throwing program at that time, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Weathers has already been shut down for nearly a month with a left index finger strain and still isn't ready to throw yet. Given how much time he's missed, it's going to take him a while to get sufficiently built back up before rejoining the Marlins' rotation. A return would appear to be several weeks away. • Tosses another bullpen
Sanchez threw a 26-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Saturday's session was Sanchez's second time throwing off a mound, and he was able to get up to 26 pitches after only tossing 18 pitches in his first bullpen. Still, Sanchez won't be eligible for return until August. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

    • Ryan Weathers (finger) to be re-evaluated soon
Ryan Weathers (finger) will be re-evaluated in 1-2 weeks.

Advice: Weathers landed on the injured list back in early June with a left index finger sprain and has yet to resume throwing. The 24-year-old southpaw will require an extended rehab assignment once he ramps up his throwing program, so it’s probably unrealistic for fantasy managers to expect him back until sometime in mid-to-late August, even in a best-case scenario. • Another rehab start Saturday
Cabrera (shoulder) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cabrera is slated to throw 80-to-85 pitches in what will likely be his final rehab start before rejoining the Marlins' rotation. The right-hander has posted a 4.50 ERA and 15:4 K:BB over 10 innings in his first three rehab outings. Cabrera has been out since early May with a right shoulder impingement. • Tyler Mahle (elbow) beginning rehab assignment
Tyler Mahle (elbow) is beginning his rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Mahle will likely need to make a few rehab starts as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery that he underwent last year, but it’s obviously a positive development that the right-hander is getting back on the mound. The 29-year-old should be an option for the Rangers — and potentially fantasy managers — at some point after the All-Star break. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

    • Has surgery for capsule tear
France underwent surgery Monday to repair a capsule tear in his right shoulder.

Advice: It had been reported previously that France was set to undergo season-ending surgery and now the specifics of the procedure have been revealed. France is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Sugar Land but could be a candidate for the major-league 60-day IL should the Astros need to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. • Reports elbow discomfort
Gray experienced elbow discomfort and felt more fatigued than normal during Sunday's rehab start at Triple-A Rochester, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports. Gray will undergo testing in the coming days.

Advice: Gray compared the discomfort to what he felt in April when he sustained the right flexor strain, a concerning sign for the 26-year-old, who was close to activation before the setback. Gray surrendered seven runs across three innings Sunday before reporting the pain. He'll continue to be evaluated over the coming days as the severity of the setback is determined.
