      Yelich went 5-for-6 with a stolen base, two doubles, five RBI and one run scored in Friday's win against the White Sox.

      Advice: Yelich collected his first five-hit game of 2024 and fifth of his career, achieving the feat for the first time since Aug. 17, 2019. The former MVP has been resurgent since returning from a back injury May 8, hitting .321 (25-for-78) with one homer, six stolen bases, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored.       Christian Yelich went 5-for-6, drove in five runs and stole a base in a 12-5 win over the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: The Brew Crew were able to pick up 23 hits and six walks against the overmatched White Sox. Yelich was responsible for nearly a quarter of those, and two of them were double, giving him six on the season. The steal was the eighth, and Yelich continues to impress when on the field in 2024 with a .325/.406/.564 slash. It’s fun to see a the MVP version of Yelich thus far.     • Davis Schneider walks it off for Blue Jays
      Davis Schneider went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run to win the game 5-3 for the Blue Jays over the Pirates on Friday.

      Advice: It felt for a moment like this 14-inning marathon would go on forever before Schneider found the right field seats in Toronto. He’s now a fixture at lead-off and one of the few bright spots in what’s otherwise been a bleak season for the Blue Jays.       Nola (7-2) earned the win Friday over the Cardinals, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: It was another strong outing from Nola, who held St. Louis to a pair of solo home runs in a winning effort. The 30-year-old right-hander has held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his last four outings. Nola's ERA now sits at 3.03 on the year with a 1.03 WHIP and 71:22 K:BB across 12 starts (77.1 innings).     • Aaron Nola defeats Cardinals to improve to 7-2
      Aaron Nola picked up his seventh victory of the season on Friday night, limiting the Cardinals to two runs on three hits over his 6 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing two free passes. Both of the runs against him came on solo home runs — one by Brandon Crawford in the third inning and another off the bat of Nolan Arenado in the seventh. Nola generated 10 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night — six of those on his knuckle curve — while registering a CSW of 30 percent. Now 7-2 on the season, Nola will tote an impressive 3.03 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 71/22 K/BB ratio (77 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Brewers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:58 pm
       
    • Alexis Díaz nearly blows save versus Cubs
      Alexis Díaz escaped with his 11th save after giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Reds.

      Advice: Díaz got lucky when a pitch that hit both Nick Madigal’s hand and the knob of his bat was ruled a foul ball and was then fortunate again when Madrigal, as the tying run, was thrown out at home plate trying to score on Seiya Suzuki’s double. Díaz has a 5.91 ERA this season. He’s walked 15 and hit three batters in 21 1/3 innings. He’s simply not worthy of trust right now, but since he’s blown only two saves and the Reds don’t have anyone else they’re really wanting to turn to, he’ll probably remain in the closer’s role for now.     • Walks tightrope for 11th save
      Diaz earned the save Friday against the Cubs despite allowing a run on two hits in a walk in the ninth inning.

      Advice: Diaz allowed the first two baserunners to reach safely before surrendering a one-out double to Seiya Suzuki. While one run scored on the play, Jacob Hurtubise would throw out Nick Madrigal at the plate as the tying run before Diaz got Cody Bellinger to fly out, sealing a 5-4 victory. While it didn't come easy for Diaz on Friday, he's now converted four straight save opportunities while allowing just one earned run in his last 5.2 innings. Diaz's ERA still sits at an uninspiring 5.91 with a 1.55 WHP and 22:15 K:BB across 21.1 innings this year. He's converted 11 of 13 save chances overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:40 pm

      Winker went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's win over Atlanta.

      Advice: The 30-year-old has been arguably the biggest beneficiary this season of the Nationals' aggressive approach on the basepaths. Winker is up to a career-high 10 steals on the season, including a pilfer in four straight games, and over the last 12 games he's slashing .297/.386/.514 with two homers and six RBI.       Albies went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Nationals.

      Advice: Atlanta's offense remains in a funk, managing only five hits and one run Thursday, but Albies has been one of the few consistent bright spots in the lineup of late. The second baseman's hit safely in six straight games, and since May 13 he's slashing .313/.375/.391. Albies still isn't providing much power -- he hasn't homered in 19 straight games and has only three long balls on the year -- but he has contributed four steals, 25 runs and 25 RBI through 46 contests.
