    Advice: Bido has been really good this season with Vegas in a difficult pitching environment, posting a 2.59 ERA and 39:13 K:BB across 31.1 innings of work.   • A.J. Puk (shoulder) whiffs two in rehab appearance
    A.J. Puk (shoulder) struck out two batters over a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance Monday in the Florida Complex League.

    Advice: Puk is going to work out of the bullpen whenever he comes back from his shoulder injury, and the left-hander has looked solid thus far in his rehab appearances. The 29-year-old has had success in that relief role, and if the Marlins were to move closer Taylor Scott — something that has been rumored as of late — he could be inline for save chances.   • Starts up rehab assignment
    Puk (shoulder) made the second appearance of his rehab assignment with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday, striking out two over a scoreless inning.

    Advice: Puk has turned in identical two-strikeout perfect innings in the FCL since he started up his rehab assignment Friday. The left-hander broke camp as a member of the Miami rotation, but after turning in a 9.22 ERA and 2.63 WHIP over his four starts before landing on the injured list April 20 with shoulder fatigue, he'll work out of the bullpen once the Marlins activate him.     Gutierrez cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Francys Romero of MLB.com reports.

    Cardinals placed RHP Giovanny Gallegos on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

    Advice: Gallegos failed to record an out while surrendering three earned runs on three hits in his last appearance, and it appears the shoulder played a factor in that struggle. He’ll miss the next two weeks at least, but it could be a longer stay based on what usually happens with shoulder injuries. Chris Raycroft is up to take Gallegos’ place on the roster.     White Sox placed RHP Dominic Leone on the 15-day injured list with back tightness.

  • A’s likely to call up Osvaldo Bido on Weds
    According to MLB.com’s Martín Gallegos, the Athletics will call up Osvaldo Bido to start one of the games in Wednesday’s doubleheader.

    Advice: Bido has posted a 2.59 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in six games (five starts) for Las Vegas, striking out 39 and walking 13 in 31 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old former Pirate is not a recommended start against the Rangers but perhaps he can replace Joe Boyle in the rotation if he pitches well enough. Rotoworld Today, 1:00 pm
