Advice: Abrams extended Washington’s early lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly from ensuing batter Lane Thomas. Tallies three hits MondayMerrill went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in Monday's 6-1 victory over the Athletics.
Advice: The bottom third of San Diego's order produced half of the team's 10 hits, with Merrill's three knocks leading the way. The exciting young outfielder extended his current hitting streak to six games, and he's batting .391 (9-for-23) over that stretch. Merrill is holding his own in his rookie campaign, slashing .281/.316/.367 with three homers, 24 RBI, 26 runs and nine stolen bases through 236 plate appearances. Homers and steals in winAdames went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 3-1 win against the Blue Jays on Monday.
Advice: Adames singled and stole second base in the second inning, gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead on a solo homer in the fourth and added some insurance on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Adames opened June in a 4-for-28 slump through eight games, but he now has double-digit home runs and stolen bases following Monday's outburst. Advice: Adames’ home run was his 10th of the season and the stolen base was his ninth. He’s hitting .248 with a .761 OPS this year, but he continues to drive in runs in the middle of the Milwaukee order. Adames now has 45 RBI to go with the homers and steals. Advice: The shortstop came through with one of the big blows in a seven-run fourth inning for the Nationals, smashing a bases-loaded double into the right-field corner, and Abrams then promptly stole third base. The two-bagger was his 12th of the season while the steal was his 10th, and Abrams might be coming out of his prolonged slump -- he's hit safely in four straight games and five of the last six with three extra-base hits (two doubles and a homer), two steals, three runs and five RBI. Advice: Westburg hit a triple for the second consecutive game, bringing his season total to five triples -- tied for the fourth-most in baseball. The third baseman did most of his damage against the bullpen, with his triple coming off Phil Maton in the eighth inning and his final hit (a single) coming off Pete Fairbanks in the ninth. Abrams has steal, three RBI in win over BravesCJ Abrams went 1-for-5 with three RBI and a steal in a win over the Braves.
Advice: Abrams drove in all three runs on a double off Aaron Bummer in the fourth inning that broke the game wide open for the Nationals. He also had two hard-hit balls that both resulted in outs. The 23-year-old has had a rough go of it over the last month, going 28-for-136 (.206) since the calendar flipped to May with a 35:2 K:BB rate in 33 games. Abrams has a ton of talent with 10 home runs and 10 steals already on the season. He’s also still striking out just 21 percent of the time on the season, so strikeouts haven’t been a major issue. He has pulled the ball far less since April and hit the ball on the ground more often, so perhaps he needs to adjust to the way pitchers have adapted to his hot start. Rotoworld
