    • Locks down 16th save
Bednar earned the save Wednesday against the Reds, pitching a perfect ninth inning to seal a 1-0 victory.

Advice: It's the second straight hitless appearance from Bednar after he allowed home runs in each of his previous two outings. Still, the right-hander has been solid of late following a rocky start to the campaign, allowing just three runs in his last 17.1 innings. Overall, Bednar's converted 16-of-19 save opportunities this year while pitching to a 5.17 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB across 31.1 innings. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Delivers seven scoreless frames
Keller allowed two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Wednesday. He struck out seven.

Advice: Keller was locked in Wednesday, holding Cincinnati hitless until the fifth inning, ultimately turning in his second scoreless outing in his last three starts. However, Keller wouldn't factor into the decision as the Pirates couldn't get on the board until Bryan Reynolds homered in the eighth, providing the lone run in a 1-0 victory. Keller's been excellent since the start of May, pitching to a 1.53 ERA over his last eight outings. Overall, the right-hander's 8-4 with a 3.11 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 85:24 K:BB across 15 starts (92.2 innings) this season. Keller will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled as a rematch with Cincinnati on the road. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Should be available Thursday
Fairbanks said his bruised right thumb "felt within the realm of good" after playing catch Wednesday, and he expects to be available for Thursday's series finale in Minnesota, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The right-hander departed Tuesday's contest after being struck in the thumb by a comebacker, but it appears he's avoided a serious injury. Jason Adam, Garrett Cleavinger and Colin Poche will likely all be in the mix if a save opportunity arises Wednesday, but Fairbanks should be back on the mound for the Rays within the next couple days. • Strikes out nine
Greene allowed just two hits over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Pirates. He struck out nine.

Advice: Greene was dominant Wednesday, matching a season high with nine strikeouts while turning in his first scoreless outing since May 3. However, the right-hander was stuck with a no-decision as the Reds couldn't break through against Mitch Keller in an eventual 1-0 loss. Still, it was an impressive performance from the 24-year-old Greene, who had struggled to a 5.60 ERA while issuing 12 walks over 17.2 innings in his previous three starts. Overall, he's 5-2 on the year with a 3.35 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 98:37 K:BB across 88.2 innings. Greene's currently scheduled for a rematch with the Pirates at home in his next start. • Pete Fairbanks (thumb) expects to return Thursday
Pete Fairbanks (thumb) played catch on Wednesday and noted that, “everything felt within the realm of good”.

Advice: He won’t be available out of the Rays’ bullpen on Wednesday night, but he hopes that he’ll be ready to go on Thursday. Should a save situation arise on Wednesday, expect either Jason Adam or Garrett Cleavinger to get the nod. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago
    • Undergoes surgery
Coulombe underwent surgery Tuesday to remove bone chips in his left elbow, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: General manager Mike Elias said Wednesday that the Orioles are still hopeful that Coulombe will be able to return to the team's bullpen before the end of the season, though the earliest possible return for the left-hander would likely be sometime in September. A clearer return timeline may emerge once the 34-year-old is cleared to begin throwing, but he is in line for a long stay on the injured list no matter what. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

    • Making another rehab start
Kremer (triceps) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander began the rehab assignment Sunday and threw 59 pitches across 3.2 innings with Norfolk, and he'll continue building up his workload Saturday. Kremer will then be evaluated for next steps, and if all goes well he could rejoin Baltimore's rotation sometime next week. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

    • Dodgers activate Bobby Miller for Wednesday return
Dodgers activated RHP Bobby Miller from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: The 25-year-old hurler will make his triumphant return to the hill against the Rockies at Coors Field on Wednesday. He made four starts in the minor leagues while he was building back up, registering a 7.80 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and a 10/8 K/BB ratio over 15 frames. Given the venue, fantasy managers may want to take a wait-and-see approach before reinserting Miller back into lineups. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

    • Kyle Bradish undergoes Tommy John surgery
The Orioles announced on Wednesday that Kyle Bradish underwent successful Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery with an internal brace procedure on Wednesday in Dallas.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander will obviously miss the remainder of the 2024 season and will miss at least the first half of the 2025 campaign as well while recovering from the surgery. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues can safely cut bait now. He finishes the 2024 season with a 2.75 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings in his eight starts.
