Cabbage isn't in the Astros' lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Cabbage will take a seat Wednesday as the lefty-throwing Garrett Crochet starts on the mound for the White Sox. Cooper Hummel, Jake Meyers and Chas McCormick will make up Houston's outfield while Cabbage rests. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

    • Sitting against lefty
Singleton isn't in the Astros' lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Left-hander Garrett Crochet will start on the hill for Chicago, so the lefty-hitting Singleton will retreat to the bench. Mauricio Dubon will slide over to first base instead, opening up left field for Cooper Hummel. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Losing out on work with France back
Locklear is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Locklear has stuck around with the Mariners following Ty France's () return from the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Cleveland, but the rookie looks like he'll be in store for a drastic role reduction now that Seattle's top first baseman is back in action. After batting .222 with two home runs and a stolen base while starting in seven of the Mariners' subsequent eight games following his June 9 promotion from Triple-A Tacoma, Locklear now finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row. • Set for rehab assignment
Clemens (back) will begin a rehab assignment later this week, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Gelb notes that Clemens is set to receive regular reps in left field while on his rehab assignment. It's a position he's played a little bit both in the majors and minors, and it now looks like his best path to playing time in the majors with Brandon Marsh slated to see most of his starts in center field following Johan Rojas' demotion to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Clemens has been out since early June with lower-back spasms. Rotowire.com Today, 10:09 am

    • Kody Clemens (back) to go on rehab assignment
Kody Clemens, out since May 31 with back spasms, is expected to begin a rehab assignment later this week.

Advice: According to The Athletic’s Matt Gelb, the Phillies play to play Clemens regularly in left field during his time in the minors. He was a nice surprise in limited action for the Phillies before getting hurt, batting .256/.293/.615 in 41 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 10:06 am

    • Smacks homer Tuesday
Donovan went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Donovan has gone 15-for-51 (.294) over his last 13 games, adding two homers and seven RBI in that span. The 27-year-old got a rare start at third base Tuesday with Nolan Arenado taking a day off, though Donovan has found consistent playing time between left field and second base for much of the year. He's at a .247/.319/.380 slash line with six homers, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored and one stolen base over 67 games. Rotowire.com Today, 9:56 am

    • Alex Kirilloff set to see back specialst
Alex Kirilloff, now on the major league IL, said the Twins knew about his back problem before sending him down last week and that he had an MRI back on May 26.

Advice: This definitely wasn’t a case of a player hiding an injury and admitting to it after getting sent down; Kirilloff had been receiving daily treatment before games. Still, the Twins were upset that Kirilloff didn’t communicate of the severity of the problem, which he says has made it difficult for him to rotate on swings. Kirilloff wanted to keep playing through it in the majors, but after he was sent down to Triple-A, he decided it was better to shut it down for a spell, and he’s now set to see a back specialist. • Doubles in majors return
Nevin, summoned from Triple-A Las Vegas earlier in the day, went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run in win over the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Nevin wasted no time carrying over the momentum he'd built up while toiling for the Aviators in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, lacing his fourth two-bagger of the season one inning after drawing a free pass and coming around to score on Zack Gelof's three-run home run. Nevin drew the start at third base Tuesday and could work himself into some fairly regular playing time at either corner infield spot or designated hitter if he continues to swing a hot bat. • Heading to bench Wednesday
Flores is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Flores has now hit the bench in two straight matchups with right-handed pitchers, though it's not yet clear if he's moved back into a pure platoon role at first base with the lefty-hitting Trenton Brooks, who gets the start Wednesday but is hitting .143 over 21 at-bats since getting called up from Triple-A Sacramento. Flores, meanwhile, is hitting .212 on the season, and he owns a .198/.291/.287 slash line over 117 plate appearances against righties. Rotowire.com Today, 8:41 am
