    • Joey Loperfido doubles twice in Astros’ win
Joey Loperfido went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI as the Astros topped the Orioles 14-11 on Friday.

Advice: That’s a pretty good return to the majors. Both of Loperfido’s doubles actually came in the same inning, as the Astros came through with nine runs in the sixth. The Orioles actually responded with seven runs in the eighth, but it wasn’t quite enough in this one. Loperfido is batting .372/.413/,512 in 16 games as a major leaguer, and since the Astros seem posted to play him regularly against right-handers, he’s worth rostering in all formats at the moment. • Clubs homer Friday
Castro went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and two total runs scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Castro logged his fourth multi-hit effort in his last five games, with the lone exception being Thursday when he started on the bench. Batting .290 (20-for-69) in June, Castro has been impressive for the Twins, and it hasn't been just an empty average. He has nine extra-base hits, eight RBI and 13 runs scored over 19 contests this month. For the season, he's posted a .272/.357/.444 slash line with six homers, 24 RBI, 43 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a career-high 19 doubles through 76 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:30 pm

    • Doubles twice, scores three runs
Young went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored in Friday's victory against Colorado.

Advice: Young doubled and scored in both the third and sixth innings while also crossing home in the fourth. He's been very all-or-nothing this month; Young has four multi-hit performances in 17 games this month but has totaled just three hits in the other 13 games combined. This inconsistent run has lowered his season slash line to .263/.319/.328 with 11 extra-base hits and 17 steals through 64 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:01 pm
    • Likely avoids serious injury
Gurriel did not require an X-ray on his elbow following Friday's game against the Phillies, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Gurriel appeared to suffer the injury during an at-bat in the seventh inning, though manager Torey Lovullo said after the game that he doesn't anticipate that a stint on the injured list will be required. Nevertheless, it will be worth monitoring his status ahead of Saturday's game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Diamondbacks hopeful Gurriel (elbow) will avoid IL
Diamondbacks’ skipper Torey Lovullo said after Friday’s game that he’s hopeful Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (elbow) will be able to avoid the injured list.

Advice: Lovullo noted that the 30-year-old outfielder was sore after the game on Friday but that he did not require any imaging — at least at this time. He’ll be re-evaluated on Saturday, but it sounds like he was fortunate to have avoided any type of serious injury here. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 pm
    • Exits game with elbow soreness
Gurriel exited Friday's game against the Phillies due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: Gurriel appeared to have sustained the injury during his at-bat in the top of the seventh inning, per Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com. He's the second Arizona player to leave Friday's game, with catcher Gabriel Moreno leaving in the sixth inning due to a sprained left thumb. Before exiting, Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the second inning. He was replaced by Randal Grichuk, who came into the game in right field with Jake McCarthy shifting to left. • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. leaves game with sore elbow
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was removed from Friday’s ballgame against the Phillies due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: The 30-year-old slugger opened the scoring in Friday’s game with a solo homer off of Taijuan Walker in the second inning and finished the night 2-for-4 before being lifted in the eighth inning. Expect the Diamondbacks to provide an update on his status — and a potential timeline for his return — following the conclusion of Friday’s game. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:48 pm
    • Leaves game with back tightness
Isbel exited Friday's game against the Rangers due to lower back tightness.

Advice: Garrett Hampson pinch hit for Isbel in the top of the fifth inning. Before exiting, Isbel hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning in his only at-bat of the game. Clarity on the severity of the injury should be known following Friday's game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:35 pm

    • Kyle Isbel homers, leaves game with back tightness
Kyle Isbel was removed from Friday night’s showdown against the Rangers due to tightness in his lower back.

Advice: The 27-year-old outfielder had slugged a 387-foot solo homer in his lone at-bat in the contest but was pinch-hit for the next time that he strolled to the plate in the fifth inning. It doesn’t sound like anything that should require a trip to the injured list, but fantasy managers should monitor his status over the weekend to be on the safe side. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:35 pm
