    • Devin Williams pitching in High-A on Thursday
Devin Williams will begin his rehab start on Thursday with High-A Wisconsin.

Advice: Williams had been facing live hitters for the last week and will now head out to start his rehab assignment. Given his lengthy absence, he will likely need a few game appearances before the Brewers feel comfortable bringing him back up, but he should make his return not long after the All-Star break. • Starting rehab assignment Saturday
Williams (back) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After he tossed a live batting practice session Tuesday in Milwaukee without incident, Williams will move on to the final stage in his prolonged recovery from a pair of stress fractures in his back, an injury he suffered in spring training. As a late-inning reliever, Williams won't require an extensive buildup, but he's still likely to remain on his minor-league rehab assignment once the Brewers open their post-All-Star-break schedule July 20. A return from the 60-day injured list before the end of July can't be discounted, however, especially if Williams looks healthy and pitches effectively during his time in the minors. Once activated, Williams should settle back in as Milwaukee's closer after he racked up 51 saves and posted a 1.73 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 126 appearances between the 2022 and 2023 seasons. • Stays busy on basepaths
Ohtani went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: The 30-year-old superstar has swiped six bags in his last six games, pushing him up to 22 steals on the season -- just four shy of his career high. Ohtani has been doing plenty of damage with his bat as well, and since June 16 he's slashing .359/.480/.859 in 98 plate appearances with 11 homers, 21 runs and 22 RBI. • George Springer doubles twice in win over Giants
George Springer went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Springer doubled in the sixth inning to drive in two runs, capping off a seven-run frame for the Blue Jays. He drove in a third run with another double in the eighth to extend the lead. The 34-year-old outfielder is hitting .220/.308/.362 with 10 homers, 41 runs scored, 34 RBI, and nine steals across 352 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Records 11th steal
Pena went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: The theft was Pena's first since June 14. He hit .240 (18-for-75) across the 20 games in between steals, and he's up to 11 pilfers on 15 attempts this season. The shortstop continues to hit well in a starting role, batting .277 with a .711 OPS, seven home runs, 40 RBI and 46 runs scored across 90 contests this season. • Homers in Wednesday's loss
India went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies.

Advice: India was scratched with a left knee contusion Tuesday, and he returned in a non-defensive role as the designated hitter Wednesday. The homer was his second in July, though he's batting just .194 (6-for-31) with three RBI this month. Overall, the second baseman is at a .269/.369/.411 slash line with seven homers, 37 RBI, 44 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 19 doubles and one triple through 350 plate appearances this season. • Dominant in final first-half start
Imanaga (8-2) tossed six scoreless innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Orioles. He allowed six hits and a walk, while striking out six.

Advice: Imanaga finished the first half of the season in style, as he allowed zero runs in a start for the seventh time already this year. The lefty got off to a blazing start in his MLB debut, posting a 0.84 ERA across his first nine outings, before enduring a few lumps since then. However, he has a solid 3.00 ERA over his last three starts and 2.97 ERA overall, giving him some momentum heading into his All-Star appearance next week. Imanaga is tentatively set to take the mound again for the Cubs on July 20 against the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:25 pm
    • Shota Imanaga fires six shutout frames vs. O’s
Shota Imanaga recorded six strikeouts over six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Facing an Orioles lineup that has done some serious damage this season against southpaws, Imanaga surrendered only seven total baserunners over six sharp frames to close out a brilliant first half in his Cubs debut. The 30-year-old lefty, who is headed to next week’s Midsummer Classic, leaned heavily on his fastball and splitter combination in this one, finishing with 12 swinging strikes and a pedestrian 26 percent CSW. Yet, he managed to allow just six batted balls with an exit velocity over 95 mph. He’ll bring a pristine 2.97 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 98/16 K/BB ratio across 97 innings (17 starts) into the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:20 pm
    • India homers vs. Rockies in return to action
Jonathan India went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday’s loss to the Rockies.

Advice: India smacked his seventh home run of the season in the third inning off Kyle Freeland to give the Reds their first run of the night. The veteran infielder DH’d on Wednesday after missing Tuesday’s game with a knee bruise but looked solid in his return. India is now hitting slashing .269/.369/.411 on the season but has struggled this month, going 5-for-27 (.185) with just three RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:12 pm
