• Set to join Cubs
Vazquez is expected to be called up from Triple-A Iowa ahead of Tuesday's series opener with Atlanta, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Vazquez appears to be set to make his major-league debut after producing a .262 average with three home runs, 11 RBI, 22 runs scored and a stolen base over 141 at-bats in 39 contests at Iowa this season. It's possible that 27-year-old will replace Nico Hoerner (hamstring) on the big-league roster if Hoerner is ultimately placed on the injured list. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Chris Flexen pounded for seven runs by Yankees
Chris Flexen was tagged for seven runs in four-plus innings by the Yankees on Sunday.

Advice: Flexen got Yankee Stadiumed in a big way; the three-run homer he gave up to Jon Berti was a homer in two ballparks and Aaron Judge’s two-run shot, projected at 339 feet, was an out in every other ballpark. That’s not to say Flexen would have been good in another location, but it wouldn’t have been this ugly. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

  • Jon Berti hits three-run homer versus White Sox
Jon Berti went 2-for-3 and hit a three-run homer versus the White Sox in Sunday’s win.

Advice: Berti’s first extra-base hit in 47 at-bats this season was a 366-foot fly that would have been a homer in two ballparks. We’d say the Yankees would have been better off playing him over Oswaldo Cabrera in recent weeks, but it hasn’t mattered much, and DJ LeMahieu is about to trump both players. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

  • Corey Julks homers, reaches three times in loss
Corey Julks went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk versus the Yankees on Sunday.

Advice: Julks isn’t a major league regular, but that’s not really the standard on the White Sox right now, not with Andrew Benintendi looking worse than ever and Gavin Sheets’ defense in right negating his maybe somewhat improved offense. He’ll probably play mostly against lefties, but it’s not like there’d be any harm in starting him against righties, too. Rotoworld Today, 2:50 pm

  • Luis García gets save in win over Rangers
Luis García pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the save in a 4-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: With Carlos Estevez having thrown 24 pitches on Saturday, Ron Washington opted to keep García in the game after he recorded the final out of the eighth. García rewarded him by claiming his second save of the season. This is not a changing of the guard at closer, so we wouldn’t be spending any FAAB money here. Rotoworld Today, 2:40 pm
  • Lorenzen let down by bullpen against Angels
Michael Lorenzen allowed two runs on three hits in 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Lorenzen had allowed just two hits in six shutout innings before allowing a lead-off double and a walk to start the seventh. He was able to strike out his last batter, so he left the Rangers with first and second and one out. The Angels would score four runs in that inning with two of them being charged to Lorenzen. The right-hander posted a solid 21 percent whiff rate and mediocre 24 percent CSW while allowing an average exit velocity of just 76 mph. He deserved better and will hope for more help next week against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 2:28 pm

  • Hits open market
Garrett cleared outright waivers Sunday and elected free agency.

Advice: The veteran left-hander was designated for assignment by the Angels on Wednesday, and he'll head to the open market rather than report to Triple-A Salt Lake. Garrett made just six appearances for the Halos and gave up three earned runs with an 11:5 K:BB over 5.1 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 2:22 pm

  • Kody Clemens doubles twice in win over Nationals
Kody Clemens doubled twice and knocked in two runs against the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Clemens has nine hits in 11 appearances for the Phillies and seven have gone for extra bases, giving an .821 slugging percentage to go along with his .321 average. Nothing much in his past suggests he’ll be keeping this up, but the Phillies might as well pencil him into the lineup against righties for now. He might even be a mixed-league option with the Phillies playing in Coors next weekend. Rotoworld Today, 2:20 pm

  • Making final rehab appearance
McCormick (hamstring) is expected to rejoin the Astros after serving as Triple-A Sugar Land's designated hitter Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It's the sixth rehab outing for McCormick, who so far has gone 3-for-19 with a double, an RBI and five strikeouts. The 29-year-old has struggled early in 2024 with a .236/.325/.278 slash line through 21 games. Rotowire.com Today, 2:19 pm
