Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Aaron Nola let a sinker catch too much of the plate in the fourth inning, and Riley drove it over the wall in center field for Atlanta's first runs of the night. The third baseman has an extra-base hit and at least one RBI in four straight games, and over his last 20 contests he's slashing .362/.438/.797 with six doubles, eight homers, 17 runs and 17 RBI. • Plates three runs Friday
Merrill went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in a 10-8 win against Arizona on Friday.

Advice: Merrill knocked in San Diego's first run on a groundout in the second inning and added a two-run triple in the fourth. The outfielder also put an end to a streak of three games in which he had struck out multiple times. Despite that recent stretch, punchouts haven't been a problem for Merrill in the majors -- he has a very tolerable 17.0 percent strikeout rate through 323 plate appearances. The rookie has looked every bit a capable big-league hitter, slashing .289/.321/.456 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 40 runs and 10 stolen bases through 88 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:27 am

    • Pilfers two bags Friday
Robert went 2-for-3 with two walks and two stolen bases in Friday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Miami had trouble keeping Robert off the bases or preventing him from taking an extra bag when he got there, but his teammates couldn't bring him home. The 26-year-old has hit safely in eight straight games and 13 of his last 15, and over the latter stretch he's slashing .310/.394/.552 with three homers, five steals, eight RBI and 10 runs. • Jeff Hoffman secures eighth save
Jeff Hoffman pitched a clean ninth inning on Friday against the Braves to earn the save. He also struck out a batter.

Advice: Hoffman could be inching his way ahead of José Alvarado in the Phillies’ bullpen pecking order. Alvarado got the eighth inning in this one with a five-run lead. That came against the top of the Braves’ lineup and Marcell Ozuna wound up taking him deep to cut the lead to two. Hoffman closed it out in the ninth inning and now has three saves in his last three appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:49 pm
    • Secures eighth save
Hoffman struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning Friday and earned a save over Atlanta.

Advice: Hoffman threw nine of 14 pitches for strikes to close out the 8-6 win. He's picked up a save in three straight appearances and has converted six straight chances dating back to May 17. Hoffman now owns a stellar 1.21 ERA with a 47:8 K:BB through 37.1 frames. Jose Alvarado took the mound in the eighth inning of what appeared to be a blowout win but gave up a three-run homer to Marcell Ozuna. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 pm
    • Luis Robert Jr. swipes two bases in win over Fish
Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, drew two walks and swiped a pair of bases as the White Sox triumphed over the Marlins on Friday evening in Miami.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder smacked a one-out single off of Bryan Hoenig in the third inning and swiped second base, but the White Sox were unable to cash him in. He also drew a two-out walk in the sixth inning and nabbed second again before being stranded there. On the season, he’s now hitting .235/.313/.515 with 10 homers, 18 RBI and six stolen bases through his first 35 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 pm

    • Not facing lefty
Kjerstad is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kjerstad will take a seat Friday with southpaw Hogan Harris on the mound for Oakland. Austin Hays, Colton Cowser and Anthony Santander will fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:16 pm
    • Heston Kjerstad sits against left-hander on Friday
Heston Kjerstad is not in the Orioles’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Athletics in Oakland.

Advice: Once again the 25-year-old slugger finds himself on the sideline with an opposing left-hander on the hill. Austin Hays will start in left field for the Orioles on Friday night and will bat sixth against Hogan Harris and the Athletics. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:07 pm
    • Mark Vientos absent from Mets’ lineup on Friday
Mark Vientos is absent from the Mets’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Pirates.

Advice: It looks to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 24-year-old slugger. Jose Iglesias will draw a rare start against a right-hander in his place. He’ll start at the hot corner and bat seventh against Paul Skenes and the Pirates on Friday evening at PNC Park. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:03 pm
