Flaherty (6-5) picked up the win Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over six innings against the Guardians. He struck out four.

Advice: Flaherty, who had not pitched since June 27 due to lingering back issues, received plenty of run support while holding the Guardians' lineup in check, save for a solo homer in the third by Bo Naylor. Flaherty managed 83 pitches through six innings and was staked with a 10-1 lead by the time he was replaced. It was the fifth time in six starts Flaherty had allowed no more than one run with the lone exception coming in his last start which immediately preceded his two-week hiatus. Flaherty has been a model of consistency in his first year in Detroit, never completing a full seven innings, yet also never completing fewer than five through 16 starts this season. Through 95 innings, He's tallied an impressive stat line of 119 strikeouts to go along with a 3.13 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. With the All-Star break approaching, Flaherty, who is one of this season's larger All-Star snubs, will receive additional rest prior to the start of the second half of the season. • Heliot Ramos slugs 14th homer in loss to Blue Jays
Heliot Ramos launched his 14th home run of the season on Thursday in the Giants’ loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Ramos, who is headed to next week’s Midsummer Classic as a reserve, extended his on-base streak to 11 consecutive games by taking Blue Jays ace Kevin Gausman deep in the opening frame for a two-run blast to left field. It wound up being his lone hit in four at-bats during Thursday’s afternoon matinee at Oracle Park, but it was his fourth round-tripper in nine contests since the start of July. The 24-year-old former top prospect has delivered one of the more unexpected first-half breakthroughs, batting .300 (67-for-223) with 14 homers, 45 RBI and two steals through 57 games. He’s on a 40-homer pace since arriving in the big leagues back in early May. That’ll work. Rotoworld Today, 4:00 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) resumes on-field activity
Kyle Tucker (shin) played catch on Thursday at Minute Maid Park.

Advice: It was the first time Tucker participated in on-field baseball activities since June 3 when he suffered a right shin contusion. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar was able to resume jogging last week and looks like he’s still a couple weeks away from returning to Houston’s lineup since there still isn’t an official return timetable from the club yet. • Idle against southpaw
Kjerstad isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Thursday's game versus the Cubs.

Advice: With southpaw Justin Steele slated to take the mound for Chicago, the Orioles will keep the lefty-hitting Kjerstad on the bench to begin Thursday's contest. Austin Hays will enter the lineup as Baltimore's left fielder while Kjerstad rests. Rotowire.com Today, 1:21 pm
    • Cody Bellinger lands on IL with fractured finger
Cubs placed 1B/OF Cody Bellinger on the 10-day injured list with a left middle finger fracture.

Advice: Bellinger lands on the injured list after being hit by a pitch during Wednesday’s contest against the Orioles. No word yet on an official timeline, but fantasy managers should expect him to miss at least a couple weeks. Per Baseball Prospectus’ injury recovery dashboard, the average return timeline is roughly 2-4 weeks from a fractured finger. The fallout here could be significant as it’ll likely force the Cubs to acquire a center field replacement during the All-Star break, especially if they intend to remain in the playoff race. • Plays catch Thursday
Tucker (shin) played catch on the field before Thursday's game against Miami, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Thursday marks the first time Tucker has done any sort of work on the field since he landed on the injured list in early June. The 27-year-old outfielder has already been ruled out through the All-Star break, and the fact he has been on the IL for over a month likely means he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment. • Hunter Greene whiffs 10 in victory over Rockies
Hunter Greene struck out 10 over six innings while giving up two runs in a win over the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Greene was named an All-Star on Tuesday, and it was obvious why against the Colorado lineup. The right-hander allowed just two hits, and one of those was a solo homer from Michael Toglia. Over his last two outings, Greene has allowed just that one run while striking out 17 against just three free passes. When he throws strikes, he’s capable of dominance. The next time Greene will be on the mound is probably the All-Star Game, and his next regular season outing should be against the Nationals next weekend. Rotoworld Today, 1:00 pm

    • Hits IL with fractured finger
The Cubs placed Bellinger on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a fracture in his left middle finger, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Bellinger had to be taken out of Wednesday's game after he was hit in the hand by a pitch during the seventh inning, and imaging confirmed Thursday that the incident resulted in a fractured finger. He'll be sidelined through at least July 21, though the Cubs haven't yet provided a timeline for his return. Alexander Canario will come up from Triple-A Iowa in order to replenish Chicago's outfield depth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:00 pm

    • Jack Flaherty returns with six strong innings
Jack Flaherty allowed just two hits and one run while firing six innings to get a win over the Guardians on Thursday in a 10-1 victory for the Tigers.

Advice: Flaherty did issue two walks, but he struck out four in a very impressive outing for the 28-year-old. It was even more impressive when you remember that Flaherty was dealing with back stiffness, but that wasn’t readily apparent at all while the right-hander lowered his ERA to a strong 3.13 for the first-half of the season. Flaherty has been a real find for the Tigers, the question now is if he stays a member of the organization past July. Rotoworld Today, 12:33 pm
