• Up in big leagues
The Giants recalled Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old has a .953 OPS in 30 games for Sacramento this season and will now receive a look in the big leagues as Jorge Soler (shoulder) lands on the injured list. Ramos has a career .470 OPS in the majors, but he's played in just 34 games and has never received an extended run of playing time. He's batting seventh as the designated hitter Wednesday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

  • Lands on injured list
The Giants placed Soler on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder strain, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Soler's shoulder has caused him to miss the last three games, and he'll now officially be sidelined for another several days. The move is retroactive to Sunday, so it's possible the 32-year-old slugger is able to return in a week, but the Giants will wait and see how his shoulder heals. Heliot Ramos was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Pulled after four innings
Bibee did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing four runs on five hits in four innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Bibee looked sharp early Wednesday, allowing just one hit through his first three innings. However, things went south in the fourth, when Bibee allowed four runs on four hits. While Cleveland would ultimately rally for a win in extra innings, it was another disappointing start from Bibee -- he's now allowed 10 runs over nine innings in his last two outings. Overall, the 25-year-old right-hander is 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 44:13 K:BB in eight starts (40.1 innings) this season. Bibee's currently slated for a tough road matchup against the Rangers early next week. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Heads to bench versus southpaw
Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: With southpaw Chris Sale on the hill for Atlanta, the lefty-hitting Smith will take a seat while Garrett Cooper replaces him as Boston's designated hitter. Smith had started in each of Boston's last four games, going 3-for-16 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Making another rehab start
Hendricks (back) will make another rehab start at Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Hendricks made his first rehab start at Triple-A (second overall) on Tuesday, allowing one earned run in 4.1 innings while striking out six batters and walking three. He'll remain in the minors for another start, though there is no telling whether or not he'll be pulled off his assignment after Sunday's outing. If his next start does end up being his final appearance in the minors, Hendricks would be lined up to start May 17 against the Pirates. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • Teoscar Hernández homers, Dodgers fillet Marlins
Teoscar Hernández went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday, powering the Dodgers to a 3-1 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Hernández was a one-man wrecking crew, taking full advantage of a tasty matchup for him against young southpaw Ryan Weathers, delivering a run-scoring single in the opening frame before crushing a two-run blast in the sixth inning. It was the lefty-mashing veteran slugger’s 10th round-tripper of the season and fourth time he’s gone deep in his last six contests. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

  • Hitting bench Wednesday
Trevino is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Though he'll give way to Austin Wells behind the plate Wednesday, Trevino appears to be the Yankees' preferred option at catcher for the moment. Trevino started in each of the past three games, with two of those starts coming against right-handers. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Daniel Hudson notches save Wednesday vs. Marlins
Daniel Hudson tossed a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Marlins to record his second save of the season.

Advice: Hudson got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and tossed a flawless frame on 12 pitches (10 strikes). It’s worth noting that both Blake Treinen and Alex Vesia might’ve been unavailable after pitching during Monday’s series opener. This was Hudson’s first outing since an ugly blown save last Friday against the Braves. It’ll presumably remain a closer by committee situation with Hudson, Treinen and Vesia splitting the ninth-inning duties until Evan Phillips is ready to return from the injured list at some point later this month. • Gavin Stone quiets Marlins to collect third win
Gavin Stone yielded one run over seven innings on Wednesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Stone was excellent during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Dodger Stadium, limiting Miami’s floundering lineup to just a fourth-inning solo shot from Bryan De La Cruz over seven frames. He finished with four strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 25-year-old former top pitching prospect has held his own this season in his first extended chance in the big leagues, compiling a respectable 3.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 27/13 K/BB ratio across 38 innings (seven starts). He’ll face the division-rival Giants on Tuesday his next time out. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
