      Advice: The 10 strikeouts topped his previous season high by two. Abbott yielded homers to Connor Wong and Jarren Duran, but no further damage was done. There still isn’t much at all to like about Abbott’s peripherals, but he has reduced his walk rate, and this is the right year to be a big flyball pitcher.       Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs — three earned — in 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Crawford surrendered three homers tonight, bringing his total allowed to seven in his last three starts. He’s given up at least one in seven straight outings.       Advice: With Yu Darvish expected to return from the injured list next week, Mazur’s time in the rotation was coming to an end, so they’ll option him out now in order to get a fresh arm in their bullpen for the weekend. Over his four major-league starts, Mazur has an 0-2 record with a 7.27 ERA and 1.96 WHIP, and he has failed to make it through five innings over his last three starts. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit and procured a strikeout, and the scoreless frame puts his ERA at a dazzling 0.76.
