    • Andrew Vaughn homers again in rout of D-Backs
Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI Saturday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: It’s been a fantastic June for Vaughn, even with the White Sox playing at an absolutely abhorrent level. The 26-year-old hit a two-run blast off Bryce Jarvis in the fifth, and the first baseman drove in another run with a single two innings earlier. Vaughn ended May with a .577 OPS, and the current slash of .227/.283/.386 helps tell the story of how good he’s been since. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm
    • Salvador Perez (knee) could return on Sunday
Salvador Perez (knee) is not in the Royals’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s battle against the Dodgers.

Advice: The star 34-year-old backstop was removed from Friday’s game due to discomfort in his right knee. He underwent an MRI exam on Saturday — the results of which were very favorable — and Perez is expected to return to the Royals’ lineup in a day or two. Austin Nola was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday to add depth behind the plate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:46 pm

    • Could be back Sunday
Perez has a right knee sprain but is expected to be back in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers or Tuesday against Oakland, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Advice: An MRI revealed Perez is dealing with just a minor sprain and some inflammation in his right knee, which is encouraging news after he was pulled from Friday's game against Los Angeles. While Perez is expected to be back in the lineup as soon as Sunday, it's possible he'll DH for a few games to get his knee back to full strength, especially after the Royals called up Austin Nola on Saturday. • Resumes playing field
Drury (hamstring) played second base in a rehab game with Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: This was Drury's fourth rehab game, but he had served as the designated hitter in each of the previous three contests. The veteran infielder is working his way back from a left hamstring injury that has kept him from competing for the Angels since May 8. Drury has gone 5-for-13 with three walks and an RBI in his rehab stint thus far and appears very close to rejoining the big-league club. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm

    • On bench Saturday
Perez (knee) isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Perez was pulled from Friday's game with right knee discomfort and will be held out of the lineup Saturday, giving way to Freddy Fermin behind the dish. While it's unclear how severe Perez's injury is, the Royals felt the need to call up catcher Austin Nola from Triple-A Omaha, indicating Perez could miss multiple games. • Breather Saturday
Mateo is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Phillies, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Mateo will take a seat after he went 2-for-13 with a three-run home run, two runs scored and a stolen base while starting four consecutive games after being activated from the 7-day injured list Tuesday. Jordan Westburg will slide over to second base while Ramon Urias enters the lineup at third base and bats ninth against Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 am

    • On bench versus lefty
Conforto is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Angels.

Advice: Conforto will take a seat as the team faces left-hander Patrick Sandoval on the mound. Austin Slater will enter the lineup in left field and bat leadoff against Los Angeles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:04 am
    • Salvador Perez exits Friday with knee discomfort
Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:57 am

    • Swats homer Friday
Suarez went 1-for-2 with two walks and a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Suarez led off the fourth inning with his sixth home run of the season. His struggles at the plate have put his job at the Diamondbacks' primary third baseman in jeopardy, but Suarez has started two of the three games since manager Torey Lovullo indicated Blaze Alexander would see more time at third base.
