• Stratton picks up fourth save Thursday
Chris Stratton picked up the save against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Stratton’s save was his fourth of the year. James McArthur is still in the late inning mix for the Royals, but he entered in the seventh inning of a tie game. McArthur has only one save this month, but has finished four games. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 pm
  • Josh Hader strikes out two in save vs. White Sox
Josh Hader struck out two while firing a scoreless frame to get a save against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Even with the two strikes, Hader needed just 14 pitches — 12 of those strikes — to get the save. The left-hander has now 11 in his first season as a member of the Astros, and he’s been much better than his 3.78 season ERA might indicate. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

  • Chris Flexen pitches well, but bullpen blows lead
Chris Flexen held the Astros to just one run over six innings, but didn’t factor in the decision Thursday.

Advice: Flexen pitched well, the White Sox bullpen did not. He scattered five hits while striking out six against three walks. The 29-year-old left the game with a 3-1 lead, but Chicago’s beleaguered relievers gave up the lead quickly after. Flexen gets the Dodgers next week. No thank you. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

  • Pete Fairbanks (thumb) blows save, gets victory
Pete Fairbanks (thumb) blew a save while allowing a run against the Twins on Thursday, but worked two innings to get the victory.

Advice: Fairbanks entered the game with a couple of runners on and Tampa Bay holding a 6-3 cushion. He was able to get the first two outs, but then gave up a game-tying homer to Jose Miranda to blow the save. He was able to get the final three outs after the Rays scored in the 10th, however, so he gets the win. The right-hander missed a couple of days while dealing with a thumb injury, so the positive is he was back on the mound and does at least get a win. Fairbanks is still likely to see save chances going forward even with a fair share of clunkers. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm
  • Simeon Woods Richardson limits Rays to two runs
Simeon Woods Richardson held the Rays to just two runs in his six innings of work, but he didn’t factor into the decision Thursday.

Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander struck out six while walking two and allowing four hits. Woods Richardson struggled in his previous outing against the A’s while allowing four runs in four innings, but this was much more like the version we’ve seen for the majority of 2024. Woods Richardson looks legit, and he’ll have another chance to do so against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm
  • Zack Littell allows two in no-decision vs. Twins
Zack Littell allowed two runs in five innings without qualifying for a decision Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: Littell bounced back nicely from his disaster against Atlanta (two innings, six earned runs), but wasn’t able to get enough run support to factor in the decision. The right-hander scattered five hits and two walks while fanning five. One of the runs was a homer by the red-hot Royce Lewis, and the other a double off the bat of Kyle Farmer. Littell has mostly been solid as a starting option, and he’s scheduled to work again next week against the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm

  • Emmanuel Clase gets 22nd save against Mariners
Emmanuel Clase hurled a scoreless ninth to pick up a save against the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: It’s already the 22nd save of the season for Clase, and the hunt for a 50-save season is certainly on. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit and procured a strikeout, and the scoreless frame puts his ERA at a dazzling 0.76. A spectacular season for Clase, and there’s every reason to believe he can keep it going through the second half of the campaign. Rotoworld Today, 12:39 pm
  • Paul Sewald hurls scoreless frame for save
Paul Sewald allowed a hit and picked up a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get a save against the Nationals on Thursday.

Advice: Sewald has been sensational since returning from the injured list, and the scoreless inning lowers his ERA to a miniscule 0.71. The right-hander also has collected eight saves and will continue to operate as the Diamondbacks closer throughout 2024. Rotoworld Today, 12:31 pm
  • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Rangers outrighted Tinoco to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Advice: Tinoco has the option to decline the assignment and become a free agent if he wants. If he does choose to stick around, he'll provide relief depth at Round Rock. Rotowire.com Today, 11:59 am
