      Matt Waldron went without a decision while allowing one run and two hits in 6 1/3 innings Monday against the Angels.

      Advice: Waldron was back down to 33% usage of the knuckler tonight after utilizing the pitch a career-high 55% of the time last time out. He was plenty effective, but he might have been even more so with more knuckler usage, considering that all seven hard-hit balls he allowed came on other pitches.       Estevez struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning and earned a save over the Padres on Monday.

      Advice: Estevez needed only 10 pitches to quickly finish off the 2-1 victory. He's given up one earned run over his last 6.1 innings, lowering his season ERA to 4.50 through 18 frames.       Waldron gave up a run on two hits over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out four during the loss to the Angels.

      Advice: Waldron turned in a second straight quality start Monday, allowing only one run in the fourth inning. He's given up two or fewer runs in five consecutive outings but has finished at least six innings just twice in that span. Still, his ERA has fallen from 5.82 to 3.98 during this run. Waldron has produced a 64:19 K:BB through 63.1 innings and hasn't allowed a long ball since May 11. He's currently in line to face Arizona at home this weekend.       Eovaldi did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with seven strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Eovaldi allowed a solo home run to Jake Rogers in the third inning but was otherwise fantastic, leaving the game in a 1-1 tie with two outs in the sixth. Eovaldi was pulled just shy of a quality start at 71 pitches, as he is getting eased back in after returning from the injured list (groin) May 28. Through nine starts, Eovaldi now owns a 2.70 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 53:19 K:BB and will aim to continue building up his pitch count against the Giants this weekend.       Nathan Eovaldi allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings and got a no-decision against the Tigers on Monday.

      Advice: Eovaldi gave up three hits, walked none and struck out seven. He looked pretty sharp in his second start since returning from the injured list.       Eovaldi will start Monday's game against the Tigers at Globe Life Field.

      Advice: Eovaldi returned from the 15-day injured list last Tuesday and took back his spot in the Texas rotation, but he covered just three innings and tossed 37 pitches in the Rangers' 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks. Because Eovaldi didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, the Rangers deliberately limited his workload in what was his first start since May 2. Eovaldi didn't report any renewed discomfort with his right groin coming out of the outing against the Diamondbacks, so he should be in store for a more typical starter's workload Monday.       Bassitt (6-6) picked up the win Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Bassitt didn't seem to be held back at all after leaving his previous start with neck spasms, tossing 100 pitches Sunday and picking up his third straight victory. The 35-year-old has been part of the decision in all 12 of his starts this season and hasn't yielded more than three runs in an outing since April 26. During that stretch, Bassitt is 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA across 35.0 innings. He's scheduled to make his next appearance Friday at Oakland. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:50 pm

      Helsley struck out two without allowing a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

      Advice: A flyout allowed the initial runner to advance to third base, but Helsley struck out the next two batters to close this game. It was encouraging to see the 29-year-old have a dominant outing after allowing four runs over his previous three appearances. He's earned a save in eight straight outings despite his recent shakiness, and he still has a 2.42 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 26 innings while converting 19 of 20 save chances this season.
