    • Earns quality start in loss
Gallen (5-4) allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings to take loss versus the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Gallen had his longest outing of the season and his fourth straight quality start, but the Diamondbacks couldn't get anything going as Miami starter Braxton Garrett tossed a shutout. Gallen has permitted more than three runs just once in 10 starts this season, pitching to a 3.12 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:15 K:BB over 57.2 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers. Rotowire.com Today, 9:21 pm
    • Collects game-winning RBI
Tovar went 4-for-6 with a double and two RBI in Friday's victory over Philadelphia.

Advice: Tovar had a career night against the Phillies, collecting his first ever four-hit game and driving home the winning run in extras. The Colorado shortstop has been hot over his last 10 games, batting .347 (17-for-49) with three homers, eight runs scored and eight RBI. Overall, Tovar sports a .285/.317/.473 slash line in 221 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:55 pm

    • Yields one run in Colorado
Sanchez did not factor into the decision Friday against the Rockies, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Despite allowing eight baserunners, Sanchez managed to hold the Rockies offense in check with a 52.5 percent groundball rate. Surprisingly, the Phillies lefty collected only two strikeouts despite generating 11 whiffs in his 83 total pitches. Sanchez has thrown 54.1 innings this season, producing a 3.15 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB. The 27-year-old is currently scheduled to face the Giants on the road in his next start. • Gallen goes seven strong, but picks up loss
Zac Gallen went seven innings while allowing three runs Friday against the Marlins while picking up a loss.

Advice: Gallen allowed a two-run single in the second, and a solo homer to Jake Burger in the fourth. After that — and in-between — the right-hander was effective while walking just one and striking out five. He still picks up a loss with Arizona being dominated by Braxton Garrett while he was in the contest. Gallen takes a 3.12 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets on Thursday. • Teoscar Hernádez homers in loss
Teoscar Hernádez went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, double, two walks, and two runs scored in a loss to the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Hernádez’s ninth inning home run cut the Reds’ lead to three, but to no avail for the Dodgers. The homer was his 12th of the season, just one behind Shohei Ohtani for the team-lead and his two walks raised his walk rate near 9%. That would be the most Hernádez has walked since 2019. He’s chasing far less than he has in years past, too. That and him hitting in the middle of the Dodgers’ potent lineup has made him one of the best run producers in the league so far this season. • Brandon Lowe scores lone run in loss to Royals
Brandon Lowe went 1-for-3 and scored the Rays’ lone run in Friday night’s loss to the Royals.

Advice: Lowe smacked a one-out single off of Seth Lugo in the opening inning and wound up coming around to score on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jonathan Aranda. He also drew a walk in the contest, reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances. On the season, the 29-year-old slugger is now hitting .146/.239/.244 with a homer and four RBI in his first 46 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 6:24 pm

    • Trea Turner (hamstring) hits in cage on Friday
Trea Turner (hamstring) hit in the batting cage, took ground balls and did some short sprints on the field on Friday without any issues.

Advice: He’s scheduled to face live pitching on Saturday and do some more intense running to test out his injured hamstring. He appears to be making quicker progress in his recovery than his initial timeline and is inching closer to a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Today, 5:56 pm

    • Collects 14th save
Suarez walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Suarez had no trouble locking down the save in the 10th inning after the Padres pulled ahead. The right-hander has still allowed just one run all season, and that was March 28 versus the Giants. His scoreless streak is at 20 innings, and he has a 0.40 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB over 22.1 innings with 14 saves and one hold on the year as one of baseball's top closers. • Robert Suarez nails down 14th save against Reds
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless 10th to pick up a save against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: That’s already the 14th save of the season for Suarez; putting him at right around a 40-save pace at this stage of the season. The right-hander hasn’t just helped in that category, as the scoreless 10th puts his ERA at a sparkling 0.40 for the 2024 campaign. There were question marks about Suarez being a stopper for the Padres coming into the season. Over the first 50-plus games, that question has been answered rather emphatically.
