Lukes underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Advice: The Blue Jays haven't yet established a return timeline for Lukes, who is a member of the 40-man roster. He was up with the big club for one day in early May but has otherwise spent the entire season at Triple-A Buffalo. Lukes had slashed .333/.406/.480 with six home runs and four stolen bases in 192 plate appearances for Buffalo prior to being placed on the 7-day injured list. Rotowire.com4 minutes ago
Jones went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Pirates.
Advice: Jones started in his second straight game since returning from the injured list and has hit fifth and sixth in the order. He delivered his first three-hit effort and only sixth multi-knock performance of the campaign in 29 starts. That provides some hope that he's now fully healthy and prepared to improve upon his .196 average and .587 OPS. Rotowire.com7 minutes ago
Votto (ankle) has been transferred to the Blue Jays' Florida Complex League affiliate to begin a rehab assignment, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Advice: Votto is finally ready to play in games following a long recovery from a severe right ankle sprain which he suffered back in mid-March. He will move up to Triple-A Buffalo once Toronto decides he's ready. The 40-year-old could eventually become an option for the Blue Jays at first base and/or designated hitter, but he's on a minor-league contract and isn't guaranteed anything. Joey Votto (ankle) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Advice: Votto is back in minor league game action for the first time since suffering a right ankle injury back in spring training. The 40-year-old first baseman is hoping to make his Toronto debut at some point this year, but is a non-factor for fantasy purposes at this advanced stage of his career. Rotoworld9 minutes ago
Yimi García was removed from Sunday’s game against the Guardians with right elbow soreness.
Advice: Garcia is expected to undergo additional testing after being removed from a save situation with two outs in the ninth inning of Sunday’s win, which was eventually closed out by Nate Pearson. It’s unclear where Toronto manager John Schneider will turn for saves moving forward, with veteran stopper Jordan Romano (elbow) still on the injured list, but veteran Chad Green would presumably be the add in all fantasy formats here. It’s possible Pearson will get a look as well given his raw stuff. Rotoworld20 minutes ago
Gibson (personal) is expected to be activated from the bereavement list in time for his next scheduled start Wednesday in Miami, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Advice: Gibson was officially placed on the bereavement list Sunday, but it won't cost him his next turn in the rotation after he misses the minimum three days. The right-hander tossed seven shutout innings versus the Cubs his last time out to lower his ERA on the season to 3.44. Rotowire.com23 minutes ago
Olson went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
Advice: The first baseman extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and his extra-base hit streak to five games, with another impressive performance. Olson is batting .410 (16-for-39) over that 10-game stretch, pushing his slash line on the season to .261/.342/.471 with 11 homers and 38 RBI in 69 contests. Rotowire.com24 minutes ago
Riley went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
Advice: The third baseman erupted out of a slump to homer in three straight games against Tampa Bay, racking up six hits and eight RBI in the three-games weekend series. Even with the power surge, Riley has only six home runs and 28 RBI on the season, but he's topped 30 homers and 90 RBI in each of the past three seasons. The 27-year-old is capable of going on a tear that would have him back on his usual pace before the end of June. Rotowire.com28 minutes ago
Advice: Castillo has opted to test the free agent waters over the weekend rather than accept an outright assignment to Triple-A St. Paul. The 30-year-old reliever went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week. He made only five relief appearances for Minnesota and figures to generate some interest as extra organizational bullpen depth. Rotoworld28 minutes ago
