      Stroman came away with a no-decision in Friday's 16-5 rout of the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: The veteran right-hander made his big-league with the Jays in 2014 and had trouble keeping his composure in his return to Toronto, getting the hook after 88 pitches (52 strikes) and not sticking around long enough to benefit from a season-best offensive explosion by the Yankees. Stroman completed six innings only once in five June starts, but on the year he still sports a 3.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:43 K:BB through 95.2 innings.       Advice: Stroman labored through two very long innings against the Blue Jays. He could not put them away despite not allowing much hard contact and many long-at bats drove his pitch count up.       Crawford's next start will come on Tuesday in Miami after his last outing was suspended by rain, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

      Advice: Crawford threw only 23 pitches over 1.1 scoreless innings Wednesday against the Blue Jays before inclement weather forced any early end to his night. Despite the righty's limited workload in that outing, the Red Sox have elected to give Crawford five days of rest before his next start.       Eovaldi didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Eovaldi had a troublesome third inning, allowing Jackson Chourio to reach on a leadoff single before letting Christian Yelich and Willy Adames get on base with two outs, leading to a Jake Bauers grand slam. The other run charged to Eovaldi came in the fourth frame, when Derek Hill couldn't make a diving catch in center field, allowing Chourio to get all the way around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Eovaldi's five runs allowed tied his season high, and he's allowed a home run in five consecutive starts. Overall, he owns a 3.45 ERA and 74 strikeouts across 73.0 innings.       Wednesday’s game between the Blue Jays and Red Sox in Boston was suspended due to rain.

      Advice: There hadn’t been any rain in the forecast, but a storm popped up early in the second inning and washed out any chances of the two sides getting this game in. The game will resume on August 26 in the top half of the second inning, with the Blue Jays having a runner at first base with one out.       Nathan Eovaldi surrendered five runs in seven innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

      Advice: Jake Bauers’ third-inning grand slam accounted for most of the damage. It was actually the first slam ever surrendered by Eovaldi; the league had hit just .227/.228/.267 in 79 career plate appearances with the bases loaded.     • Ryan Pepiot strikes out eight on Wednesday vs. Mariners
      Ryan Pepiot recorded eight strikeouts and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

      Advice: Pepiot carried a shutout into the sixth inning before being lifted from the contest at 88 pitches (54 strikes) after issuing a one-out walk to J.P. Crawford. He wound up being charged with that run when reliever Shawn Armstrong served up a three-run homer to Cal Raleigh later in the frame. The 26-year-old righty generated 15 swinging strikes, including nine on his four-seam fastball alone, and finished with a respectable 29 percent CSW. It was a nice effort from Pepiot considering he failed to complete five frames in each of his previous two outings.       Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Bello won't start Sunday's game against the Padres as previously planned and will instead make his next start Wednesday in Miami, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

      Advice: Heading into the week, Bello had been lined up for two starts, but the Red Sox are opting to give him more time off before his next turn after he was blasted for seven earned runs on five hits and three walks over 2.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. According to Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald, Cora clarified that Bello isn't dealing with any sort of physical issue, and the right-hander's extra time off between starts is designed to help him better identify the source of the control problems that have become a recurring concern.
