• Diaz blows lead again
Edwin Diaz allowed four runs and only recorded one out against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Diaz entered the game with a four-run lead so it wasn’t technically a save situation, but he once again couldn’t hold the lead for the Mets. It’s his third straight appearance with a blown lead. Diaz allowed an RBI single to Jazz Chisholm and a game-tying three run home run to Josh Bell. His ERA is now 5.50 on the season. Diaz has been an elite closer in the past, but we’re at the point where he might need to be removed from the closer role temporarily.

  • Devin Williams (back) plays catch on Saturday
Devin Williams (back) played catch on Saturday without any issues.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 29-year-old right-hander has thrown since being shut down in spring training due to a pair of stress fractures in his back. He isn’t expected to rejoin the Brewers’ bullpen until mid-July — that’s if everything goes smoothly in his throwing progression — but the fact that he has a ball in his hand once again is obviously an encouraging sign. • Roughed up in San Fran
Blach (1-2) took the loss Saturday in San Francisco, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The Giants tallied 18 hits and 14 runs in this one, with Blach and reliever Nick Mears (six runs in two-thirds of an inning) absorbing the big blows. Blach was given another start after holding the Rangers to one run over five innings his last time out, but he might be headed back to long relief after this effort. If he does get another turn, it would likely come next week at home versus the Phillies. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

  • Ty Blach surrenders six runs in loss to Giants
Ty Blach allowed six runs with three strikeouts across three innings in a loss against the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Blach served up a three-run homer to Luis Matos in the first inning. Two more runs would come across to score in the second on two doubles, a walk, and a sacrifice fly. Matos doubled in a run in the third to make it six runs on Blach, who ended his day after three frames. The 33-year-old left-hander holds a 5.14 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and a 10/4 K/BB ratio across 21 innings. He’ll take on the Phillies in Colorado on Friday. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

  • Throws bullpen session
Phillips (hamstring) threw another bullpen session Saturday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Saturday marks Phillips' second round of mound work since landing on the IL on May 5 with a strained right hamstring. He still has yet to face live hitters, but manager Dave Roberts said after Phillips' session that the right-hander is roughly a week away from rejoining Los Angeles' bullpen. • Plays catch Saturday
Williams (back) played catch before Saturday's game against the Astros, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Saturday marks the first time Williams has done any sort of throwing since being shut down during spring training due to multiple stress fractures in his back. The 29-year-old closer still has a long way to go before the Brewers can think about sending him out on a minor-league rehab assignment, but he is certainly trending in the right direction. He's expected to rejoin Milwaukee's bullpen near the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 3:15 pm
  • Pirates outright Josh Fleming to Triple-A Indy
Pirates sent LHP Josh Fleming outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier in the week. Fleming posted a 5.68 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and a 13/9 K/BB ratio over 19 innings in 17 appearances for the Bucs. He’ll continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Pirates at the Triple-A level. • Outrighted to Indianapolis
Fleming cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Indianapolis, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Fleming was DFA'd by the Pirates on Tuesday after giving up six runs (five earned) in his most recent MLB appearance, and he will officially remain within the organization as he looks to get back on track. The 28-year-old southpaw posted a 4.35 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in Triple-A last season, though he will likely have to do better than that before the Pirates start thinking about calling him back up to the majors. • Garrett Cleavinger earns third save against Blue Jays
Garrett Cleavinger struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Pete Fairbanks got the day off after pithing in two of the last three days. Cleavinger was summoned to close out Saturday’s game with a one-run lead against the Blue Jays. He struck out one batter in a clean frame on 14 pitches, earning his third save of the season. Rotoworld Today, 2:58 pm
