  • Julio Rodríguez goes 3-for-5, homers in victory
    Julio Rodríguez went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBI as the Mariners bested the Nationals 9-5 on Sunday.

    Advice: Rodríguez’s three knocks all checked in between 107 and 109 mph. The Mariners had him batting third today after placing him sixth the previous three days. Last year, a drop in the lineup saw him hit two homers in his first game as a No. 5 hitter and resulted in an immediate return to the top of the order.   • Juan Soto plates run in loss to Padres
    Juan Soto doubled, walked and drove in a run as the Yankees fell to the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

    Advice: The 25-year-old superstar broke a scoreless tie with a run-scoring double off of Joe Musgrove in the sixth inning. That would wind up being the Bombers’ only tally until the ninth inning. Soto is once again enjoying an outstanding all-around season at the plate — slashing a robust .310/.408/.571 with 14 homers, 44 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:10 pm
     
  • Kyle Isbel (face) remains out Sunday vs. Rays
    Kyle Isbel (face) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Rays.

    Advice: Isbel fouled a ball off his face in the seventh inning and was removed from the game Saturday against Tampa Bay. He’ll miss at least one full game while recovering, and Garrett Hampson is starting in center field. For now, Isbel is listed as day-to-day. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:43 am

    Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Nationals.

    Advice: He provided the Mariners' lone run with his third homer of the season and first since May 12. Rodriguez has been one of the biggest fantasy disappointments through two months of the 2024 campaign -- even after Saturday's homer, his OPS sits at .618, exactly 200 points below his mark from last season. Manager Scott Servais recently moved Rodriguez down to the No. 6 spot in the lineup, and it looks like that's where the 23-year-old will remain until his bat gets going.     Gorman went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cubs.

    Advice: Gorman's game is more power than speed, but he's done a little of both with three home runs and two steals over his last six contests. Those two thefts account for his season total. The second baseman is slashing .215/.308/.423 with eight homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and seven doubles over 169 plate appearances on the year.   • J-Rod finally swats third homer in loss to WSH
    Julio Rodríguez hit a solo homer while going 1-for-4 in a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

    Advice: J-Rod absolutely blistered a solo shot off Trevor Williams to tie the game at 1-1. The 23-year-old has homered just three times, and he has driven in just 15 runs over the first third of the season. Rodríguez also had a slow start to 2024 and still ended up one of the best fantasy options in baseball.     Kyle Isbel was removed from Saturday’s battle against the Rays after being hit in the face by a foul ball.

    Advice: Isbel was at the plate in the seventh inning when a foul tip caught him in the face. Depending on where exactly the ball caught him, he may head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage and he also may need to pass through the concussion protocol before he’s cleared to return to action.     Isbel was removed from Saturday's game against the Rays after getting hit in the head by a foul tip, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

    Advice: Isbel was hit in the face by a fastball that deflected off the handle of his bat during the seventh inning of Saturday's contest.
