    • Takes no-decision Wednesday
Wilson allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Wilson was just OK in his return to a starting role after making his last appearance behind an opener. This was the first time all year the right-hander has allowed more than two runs in an outing. He's pitched to a 3.19 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB over 48 innings across 14 appearances (seven starts) in 2024. Wilson is projected for a tough road matchup versus the Phillies in his next appearance, though the Brewers haven't revealed if that will be as a starter or a primary pitcher. • Bryse Wilson gives up four runs in no-decision
Bryse Wilson allowed four runs -- two earned -- with one strikeout over four innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Wilson worked a clean first inning, then gave up a solo homer to Ian Happ in the second. Happ would reach base once again in the fourth and advanced to third on a balk before a groundout brought him in to score the second run. An error and a base hit to start the fifth chased Wilson from the game with two runners on and no outs at 82 pitches. While both inherited runners would score, on two runs on the day were earned. The 26-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 39/19 K/BB ratio across 48 innings. He’s set to take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Monday. • Extends strikeout streak
Estrada (2-0) earned the win over the Yankees on Sunday, striking out all five batters he faced.

Advice: Estrada threw 20 of 26 pitches for strikes and got all five of his punchouts on swinging strikes. The right-handed reliever has now struck out each of the last 10 batters he's faced swinging to set a Padres record. Estrada's been dominant during his time with San Diego this season, allowing just one earned run over 15.1 frames while posting a 25:4 K:BB. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:40 pm
    • Nabs win as primary pitcher
Wilson (3-1) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 relief innings in a 7-2 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out seven.

Advice: Jared Koenig got the nod as the opener but recorded only two outs and put two runners aboard before Wilson entered the game. Wilson struck out Tyler O'Neill to end the rally, the first of a season-high seven Ks for the 26-year-old right-hander as he generated 28 called or swinging strikes among his 80 pitches. In six trips to the mound since taking the place of DL Hall (knee) in the rotation, Wilson has posted a 2.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB over 30.1 innings, but Friday's win was his first in that stretch. Hall has worked only one-inning stints to begin his rehab assignment, perhaps signaling that Wilson's spot is secure even when the Brewers' staff gets healthier. Wilson lines up to make his next trip to the mound at home next week against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:59 am

    • Bryse Wilson gets win against Red Sox as bulk guy
Bryse Wilson allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings in a bulk role Friday and picked up a win against the Red Sox.

Advice: Wilson took over with two outs in the first after Jared Koenig retired two of four batters, got out of the jam and then stayed in through the end of the sixth. Perhaps this was an outing, in a 7-2 game, in which he would have gotten a win as a starter, but the bulk role really helps there. Wilson still hasn’t won any of his six starts, including one in which he was pulled with a lead one out shy of finishing the fifth. Rotoworld Friday, 10:47 pm

    • Could follow opener
Wilson isn't starting Friday against the Red Sox but is likely to follow opener Jared Koenig.

Advice: Wilson was initially listed as the Brewers' starter, a role he's jumped into with Milwaukee's rotation hampered by injuries, but Jared Koenig is now beginning the game on the mound instead. Considering Koenig hasn't worked more than 2.2 innings in a game this year, it's expected that he'll just open the contest, leaving Wilson to operate in long relief. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:06 pm
