    • Limited to weight-room activities
Rizzo continues to be restricted in his recovery from a fracture of his right forearm, as he's currently limited to activities in the weight room, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rizzo said he'd be unable to resume baseball activities for 4-to-5 weeks following his placement on the injured list June 18, so it's not a surprise that he hasn't yet begun to ramp up. The veteran slugger said Friday that he's "feeling good" and that the forearm has "progressed a lot" while acknowledging that he still has "some pain." While Rizzo has been out of action, rookie Ben Rice has stepped up to assume an everyday role at first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:22 pm

    • Resting Sunday
Carroll is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: After starting each of the last four games, the lefty-hitting Carroll will get a breather as the Diamondbacks close out their pre-All-Star-break schedule with a matchup against a southpaw (Yusei Kikuchi). Carroll has endured a disappointing first half in which he's slashed just .213/.300/.335, but he turned in two big games in his starts against Toronto earlier in the weekend, going 3-for-8 with two home runs, two walks, two stolen bases, seven RBI and four runs between those contests. Fantasy managers will maintain hope that Saturday's two-home-run performance in particular portends a big second half for the 23-year-old outfielder. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:14 pm
    • José Ramírez goes hitless in loss
José Ramírez went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: Ramírez was up in the ninth inning with two runners on, nobody out, and the Guardians down by two, but he popped up to the infield. The All-Star is now 11-for-51 in July (.216 average) with no home runs and just one RBI. It’s been a pretty brutal month, but there’s nothing much to do about it from a fantasy perspective. Ramírez is still having a solid all-around season, so you need to just keep him in your lineup and hope the All-Star break helps. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:02 pm
    • Lifted with ankle sprain
Melendez was removed in the top of the fourth inning of Sunday's game against the Red Sox due to a left ankle sprain.

Advice: Melendez went hitless with an RBI in two at-bats on the afternoon and appeared to suffer the injury while he was running out a groundball. Though he reached base on a fielder's choice, Melendez was immediately lifted for a pinch runner. The severity of the ankle sprain isn't known, but Melendez could be sent in for an MRI over the All-Star break if the Royals fear that the injury is more than a minor concern. • MJ Melendez diagnosed with left ankle sprain
MJ Melendez has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain.

Advice: Melendez suffered the injury while beating out a potential double-play grounder Sunday against the Red Sox. It’s unclear if he’ll require a stint on the injured list, but the Royals can wait to see how he recovers during the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:33 pm

    • MJ Melendez exits game with apparent injury
MJ Melendez exited Sunday’s game against the Red Sox with an apparent injury.

Advice: Melendez beat out a potential double-play grounder before suffering what appeared to be a foot or ankle injury. The Royals should provide an official update soon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:54 am

    • Corbin Carroll not in Sunday’s lineup vs. TOR
Corbin Carroll is not in Sunday’s lineup against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Curious to see Carroll sitting after a two-homer game, but he’ll take a breather to finish up the first half with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi starting for the Blue Jays. Ketel Marte will slide into the leadoff spot and Randal Grichuk will play right field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:29 am
    • Corbin Carroll homers twice in win over Blue Jays
Corbin Carroll went 2-for-4 with two homers and six RBI on Saturday, leading the Diamondbacks to a 12-1 blowout victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Carroll is attempting to wrap up a disastrous first half on a high note with his first multi-homer performance since June 9, 2023. He plated an early run with a second-inning sacrifice fly before walloping a three-run homer in the seventh inning and launching a two-run blast in the ensuing frame. The 23-year-old fantasy star, who put together a 25-homer, 54-steal campaign last year in his full-season debut, has just five round-trippers and 18 steals in 93 games leading into next week’s All-Star break. Fantasy managers have been waiting on the power breakthrough from Carroll for months at this juncture, so hopefully this is the type of game that will get him back on track entering the second half. • Slugs 10th homer
Suarez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 12-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Suarez got Arizona to double digits with his eighth-inning blast. The third baseman's bat has come alive in July with four homers and 12 RBI over his last seven contests. For the season, he's maintained a .211/.298/.363 line with 10 long balls, 46 RBI, 38 runs scored and two stolen bases over 92 games. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:41 pm
