    • Kyle Gibson keeps Reds bats in check in win
Kyle Gibson allowed just one run on two hits in six innings in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Gibson struck out six and walked one and the only real damage was a solo home run to Will Benson in the sixth inning. The 36-year-old posted an impressive 15 whiffs for a 34 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW. Gibson used all six of his pitches on the night, and had a 38 percent whiff rate on the sweeper while his cutter pounded the strike zone for a 41 percent CSW. The veteran now has a 3.60 ERA on the season but gets a tough start on the road against the Astros next week. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Andrew Abbott hit hard in loss to Cardinals
Andrew Abbott allowed six runs on seven hits in six innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: It was only a matter of time before there was a rough start for the left-hander who came into the day with a 2.68 ERA but a 4.38 SIERA and just an 8.3 percent swinging strike rate. His sweeper performed well on Tuesday, but the rest of his arsenal lagged behind a bit and while he didn’t get hit overly hard, he had just an 18 percent whiff rate and 23 percent CSW on the day. He’ll now take a 3.29 ERA into a game in Coors Field next week. He’s a very risky start there. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago

    • Sitting out nightcap
Ohtani isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: The Dodgers were planning on giving Ohtani the evening off heading into Tuesday's twin bill, so he'll sit in the dugout after an 0-for-5 performance during Game 1. Will Smith will instead serve as Los Angeles' designated hitter, allowing Austin Barnes to start behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 4:16 pm

    • Tylor Megill spins seven-inning gem vs. Dodgers
Tylor Megill recorded nine strikeouts over seven scoreless innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Dodgers.

Advice: Megill brought some of his best stuff of the season in the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field, limiting Los Angeles’ star-studded lineup to just three hits and one walk over seven sharp frames. He threw seven different pitches, and also touched 98.1 mph on his four-seam fastball, in the longest scoreless outing of his career. He’s allowed two earned runs or fewer with at least seven strikeouts in back-to-back starts since returning last week from the injured list and is in line for another home outing on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. The 28-year-old righty is absolutely worthy of at least a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats moving forward. It’ll be fascinating to see if he can keep this up. Rotoworld Today, 3:56 pm

    • Sent to Triple-A
The Guardians optioned Curry to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Curry was shelled for six earned runs in 3.1 innings during his last outing Monday, and the return of Eli Morgan (shoulder) from the injured list will leave the former as the odd man out of Cleveland's pitching staff. The 25-year-old Curry owns a 5.68 ERA through three starts in the majors and has performed even worse in Triple-A (8.79 ERA), though he still could return to Cleveland this year if a spot opens up in the big-league rotation. • Guardians ship Xzavion Curry back to Triple-A
Guardians optioned RHP Xzavion Curry to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Curry heads back to the minors after allowing a whopping seven runs (six earned) over 3 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Rockies at Coors Field. The 25-year-old righty figures to continue shuttling back-and-forth between Cleveland’s pitching mix and Triple-A Columbus over the next few months. Rotoworld Today, 2:22 pm

    • Starting Wednesday's game
Dunning will start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: It had been Dunning's turn Tuesday, but he will be pushed back a day with Nathan Eovaldi (groin) returning from the injured list. Dunning threw 74 pitches in his first start back from the IL last week versus the Phillies, so he might not quite be fully stretched out for Wednesday's outing. Rotowire.com Today, 1:54 pm

    • Making another rehab start
Wicks (forearm) is starting for Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Wicks will make his second rehab appearance at Triple-A Iowa after going two scoreless innings with three strikeouts Friday. He's still in the process of getting stretched out, so it's expected Wicks will need a couple more rehab starts before being activated. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • DL getting undergoing tests after ‘tweaking’ knee
DL Hall is undergoing additional testing after “tweaking” his left knee last week during a minor league rehab appearance.

Advice: Hall expressed frustration with reporters on Tuesday as he awaits additional medical opinions on his knee, adding that he believes it to be a similar issue to the one that sent him to the injured list back in mid-April. There is no timetable for the 25-year-old southpaw’s return at the moment, but there should be an update on his prognosis at some point this week. Rotoworld Today, 1:38 pm
