      Heliot Ramos blasted a three-run homer on Thursday in the Giants’ loss to the Cardinals at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

      Advice: Ramos put San Francisco on the board with a no-doubter to right field in the third inning off Cardinals starter Andre Pallante for his 10th round-tripper of the season.       Sewald allowed one hit and struck out one during a scoreless ninth to collect the save Thursday against the Nationals.

      Advice: Sewald collected his first save in two weeks, having tossed just 1.1 innings over two appearances during that span prior to Thursday. Despite the inactivity, Sewald needed only eight pitches, tossing six for strikes to thwart the Nationals.       Yordan Alvarez homered and went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 5-3 victory for Houston over the White Sox on Thursday.

      Advice: Alvarez smoked a homer in the first inning off Chris Flexen to give the Astros a 1-0 lead, and he tied the game at 3-3 with his single in the seventh. The 26-year-old outfielder has now driven in 39 runs, and it’s the 15th homer of the campaign.       Paul Sewald allowed a hit and picked up a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get a save against the Nationals on Thursday.
