    • Smacks leadoff homer
Betts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Betts snapped a 26-game homer drought with his leadoff blast Monday. He was far from a slouch in that span, batting .337 with an .848 OPS during the power drought. For the season, Betts is up to a .341/.440/.553 slash line with seven homers, 28 RBI, 35 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples over 200 plate appearances. While it has cost him some power, Betts is enjoying the best plate discipline of his career with a 15.0 percent walk rate and 9.0 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm

    • Will Smith delivers in 10th as Dodgers down Giants
Will Smith delivered a two-run double in the top of the 10th to propel the Dodgers past the Giants 6-4 on Monday.

Advice: It was his second hit of the game. Smith hit .258., 260 and .261 the last three years, but he’s at .309 right now, and he has the exit velocity numbers to somewhat back it up. He’ll probably fade as the foul tips and other catching maladies pile up, but he’s been one of the NL’s best players to date. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:42 pm

    • Cristopher Sánchez gives up three runs vs. Mets
Cristopher Sánchez allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Mets.

Advice: Sánchez finished with five strikeouts and also issued three walks. It’s fairly impressive that he was able to get into the middle innings of this one after the Mets got to him for three runs over the first two frames. The 27-year-old lefty will bring a serviceable 3.43 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 39/18 K/BB ratio across 42 innings (eight starts) into a home matchup on Saturday against the Nationals. • Shota Imanaga fans eight over five shutout frames
Shota Imanaga struck out eight over five shutout innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Braves.

Advice: Imanaga continues to be an unexpected revelation in his Cubs debut, allowing two earned runs or fewer for the eighth consecutive start in this one. The 30-year-old southpaw silenced Atlanta’s formidable lineup, scattering seven hits and three walks over five scoreless frames. He induced a staggering 18 swinging strikes and finished with a 27 percent CSW, needing 98 pitches (58 strikes) to get through five innings. He’ll bring a sublime 0.96 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 51/8 K/BB ratio across 46 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a favorable home outing on Saturday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Fans eight in no-decision
Imanaga did not factor into the decision Monday against Atlanta, allowing seven hits and three walks over five shutout innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: With his five shutout frames Monday, Imanaga shaved his ERA down to 0.96, a sterling mark for his first 46.2 major league innings. However, the Atlanta offense made the Cubs lefty work hard for his scoreless night as they had 10 baserunners and drew three walks, both setting season-highs allowed for Imanaga. He draws a much easier opponent in his next start, scheduled against Pittsburgh at home this upcoming weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:31 pm
    • Running at 85-to-90 percent
Langford (hamstring) said Monday that he's now able to run at about 85-to-90 percent speed, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Langford also added that he began swinging a bat this past Friday. The next step for the rookie will be to incorporate more explosive running to test out his strained right hamstring. Langford is one week into a projected 3-to-4-week recovery timeline, so his return from the 10-day injured list isn't imminent. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:31 pm

    • Turns in scoreless appearance
Gil (4-1) allowed three hits and two walks over six shutout innings Sunday, striking out three and earning a win over the Rays.

Advice: Gil never found himself in much trouble Sunday as he cruised to a scoreless quality start. He's gone 3-0 while giving up one run over 18.1 frames in his last three outings, dropping his season ERA to 2.51. Prior to these three straight quality starts, Gil hadn't completed six innings in any of his first five appearances. His next start is projected to be a strong home matchup against the White Sox. • Gives up two home runs
Buehler (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two in 3.1 innings.

Advice: The majority of the damage against Buehler came in the opening frame when Fernando Tatis and Jake Cronenworth smoked back-to-back solo home runs. Buehler would later exit with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth and was charged with an additional run. He struggled with his command in another abbreviated start, throwing 45 of 77 pitches for strikes, and generated only five whiffs. Buehler will carry a 7.36 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 6:2 K:BB over 7.1 innings into a meeting with the Reds. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:20 pm

    • Too wild Sunday
Harrison allowed three runs on three hits and five walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Walks have become an issue for Harrison in May -- he's issued 12 of them over 17 innings across his last three starts while adding 14 strikeouts in that span. The Reds weren't fully able to capitalize Sunday, scraping together three runs in the first inning but leaving four runners on base over the next four frames before finding more luck against the Giants' bullpen. Harrison has allowed just four runs over his last 23 innings and now has a 3.42 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 45:17 K:BB through 50 innings across nine starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Rockies. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:10 pm
