    • Nabs steal in win
Walker went 1-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: The steal was Walker's first of the year, which is a bit of a surprise since he stole 11 bases last season. He was caught stealing on his first two attempts in 2024. The first baseman has struggled in May, going 8-for-38 (.211) over 11 contests this month. He's still slashing a decent .265/.377/.437 with seven home runs, 27 RBI, 29 runs scored and five doubles over 42 contests overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:28 pm
    • Struggles in blown save
Diaz blew the save Monday against Philadelphia, allowing two runs on two hits, two walks and a hit batter. He had one strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Diaz looked extremely unsettled Monday night, issuing his first free passes since April 20, ending a streak of eight walk-free innings. Even more indicative of his unsteady control, the Mets closer allowed the tying run to score by beaning Alec Bohm with the bases loaded. Despite the ugly outing Monday, Diaz is cemented as the Mets closer with his ERA standing at 3.24 over 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 pm

    • Headed for MRI
Hoskins will undergo an MRI on his hamstring Tuesday morning, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Hoskins left Monday's series opener with a hamstring injury, but the severity of the issue remains unclear. Milwaukee should have a better idea of his availability going forward after reviewing Hoskins' test results. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:09 pm

    • Rhys Hoskins to undergo MRI on hamstring
Rhys Hoskins said a hamstring injury caused him to leave Monday’s game and that he’ll have an MRI on Tuesday morning.

Advice: Not good. One imagines the Brewers will bring Tyler Black back to the majors now. He was short-changed in his first opportunity, and he might well be a fine replacement for Hoskins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:09 pm

    • Edwin Díaz melts down Monday in ugly blown save
Edwin Díaz was charged with two runs in the ninth inning on Monday against the Phillies in a blown save.

Advice: Not great. Díaz was called upon to guard a two-run lead in the final frame and was unable to slam the door. He served up a solo shot to Bryson Stott to kick things off before drilling Alec Bohm with the bases loaded to push across the game-tying run with two outs in the frame. It was his second blown save in seven chances this season. There’s zero chance of Díaz losing his grip on the closing role in New York, but it’s worth noting that this outing was a real mess. • Daulton Varsho powers Blue Jays past Orioles
Daulton Varsho went 1-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, leading the Blue Jays to a 3-2 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Varsho came through in a pair of clutch situations, walloping a game-tying solo shot -- his seventh big fly of the season -- off Orioles relief ace Yennier Cano in the eighth inning before delivered the go-ahead run with a 10th-inning ground out. The 27-year-old is unlikely to add much from a batting average standpoint, but his 20-homer power and ability to chip in double-digit steals is appealing for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. • Goes deep again Monday
Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-5 win over the Marlins.

Advice: After going the first 37 games of the season without launching any home runs, Torkelson has now blasted off in consecutive contests. Both home runs were two-run shots, and the 24-year-old could certainly keep it going, as he's shown the ability to hit long balls in bunches. Torkelson recorded a career-best 31 home runs last year, to go along with 94 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:02 pm
    • Homers, drives in two
Varsho went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI Monday against the Orioles.

Advice: Varsho's seventh-inning home run tied the game and opened the door for his 10th-inning RBI ground out that provided the winning run for the Blue Jays. Prior to Monday's blast, Varsho had not homered since April 22, hitting just .173 with four RBI over 52 at-bats during that 15 game stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:02 pm

    • Spencer Torkelson hits go-ahead homer vs. Marlins
Spencer Torkelson slugged a go-ahead two-run homer on Monday, lifting the Tigers to a 6-5 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: It was a big-time moment for Torkelson, who desperately needed one after a rocky few weeks to start to the year. The 24-year-old former first-overall pick connected for a go-ahead blast off Marlins reliever Anthony Maldonado in the eighth inning for just his second round-tripper of the season. It’s difficult to pinpoint the root of his struggles, especially since his plate skills have remained adequate, but he’s coming off a 31-homer campaign and should start hitting for more power once the weather warms up. He’s homered in back-to-back contests and might finally be getting going at the dish. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:52 pm
