Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Yamamoto (triceps) has been placed on the 15-day injured list, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Yamamoto struck out a batter over two scoreless innings before he was lifted from his start in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Royals after he had experienced tightness in his right tricep while warming up prior to the game. Roberts hinted after the game that Yamamoto was likely to land on the IL, and the Dodgers have made the move official prior to Sunday's series finale. Jung (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung, who suffered a fractured right wrist early in the season, resumed swinging the bat in late May and progressed to live batting practice earlier this week. He's now ready for games, which puts a return to the Rangers before the end of the month very much on the table. Jones (4-6) took the loss against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing six runs on six hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Jones struck out three of the first four batters he faced on the night before allowing two batters to reach in the second, though he would manage to escape the inning unscathed thanks to a double play ball. Unfortunately that luck would not continue as the right-hander went on to surrender runs in each of the next three frames while issuing a season-high four walks in the contest. Jones has now surrendered five or more runs in two of his last four starts and has issued multiple free passes in five straight. Yamamoto (triceps) felt tightness during warmups but didn't think it was severe enough to miss Saturday's start and doesn't think the injury is serious, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Yamamoto will undergo further evaluation after leaving Saturday's game, but he doesn't feel as though the injury is anything significant. Per Juan Toribio of MLB.com, the triceps tightness was the reason for Yamamoto's start being pushed back from Thursday to Saturday, meaning the injury has isn't necessarily new. With Bobby Miller (shoulder) expected to return and start Wednesday, the Dodgers could temporarily utilize a six-man rotation to give Yamamoto extra rest. Jared Jones allowed six runs over his 4 2/3 innings while picking up a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Jones was not great, and the Pittsburgh bullpen allowed 10 more runs to score in a 16-4 blowout loss to the Rockies. The right-hander gave up six hits, and he also walked four on a night where the command just wasn’t there for the 22-year-old. He still was able to strike out six, and his rookie campaign has certainly been a success even with a couple of so-so outings as of late.
