• Facing hitters Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that Mahle (elbow) will face live hitters Wednesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bochy noted that Wednesday's workout will be the first of four live batting practice sessions that Mahle will complete as he works his way back from his May 22, 2023 Tommy John surgery. If Mahle incurs no setbacks during the live sessions, he'll likely then head out on a minor-league rehab assignment that could last close to the maximum 30 days. Mahle looks to be tracking around a return from the 60-day injured list at some point shortly after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • O’s finalize minor league pact with Julio Teheran
Orioles signed RHP Julio Teheran to a minor league contract.

Advice: The deal is now official. Teheran fortifies Baltimore’s injury-depleted starting rotation with some additional depth, but doesn’t offer much appeal for fantasy managers. The 33-year-old journeyman right-hander is an option to take the ball for Thursday’s series finale against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago
  • On bench against lefty
Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Yastrzemski will hit the bench Tuesday as lefty Blake Walston takes the mound for Arizona. Luis Matos will shift to center field while Heliot Ramos and Michael Conforto start in the corner outfield. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
  • Anthony Rendon (hamstring) nears baseball activities
Angels manager Ron Washington told reporters Anthony Rendon (hamstring) could resume light baseball activities this week.

Advice: Rendon has been out since late April with a partially-torn left hamstring and remains without a definitive timetable to return. The 33-year-old veteran might be ready to return at some point in the second half of the season. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Out for season
Middleton (forearm) will undergo surgery next week to repair his right flexor tendon and will miss the rest of the season, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: The timing of Middleton's surgery will allow him to return at some point during the 2025 campaign. He signed a one-year deal with St. Louis in February with a $6 million club option for 2025, though the Cardinals' decision on whether or not to bring him back will likely depend on how much of the next season he's expected to miss. • Kyle Freeland (elbow) throws bullpen session Tuesday
Kyle Freeland (elbow) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday at Coors Field.

Advice: Freeland was transferred to the 60-day injured list last month as he recovers from a left elbow strain, so it’s an encouraging development that he’s throwing without any issues already. The 31-year-old southpaw should be ready to return at some point in late June or early July. Rotoworld Today, 3:42 pm

  • Dominic Fletcher out 2-3 weeks with shoulder sprain
Dominic Fletcher will miss 2-3 weeks with an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.

Advice: Fletcher landed on the injured list Tuesday after suffering the ailment during Sunday’s contest against the Brewers on a collision with the left-field wall. The 26-year-old outfielder will likely wind up sidelined until sometime after next month’s All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 3:40 pm

  • Absent from Tuesday's lineup
Raleigh is not in the Mariners' lineup Tuesday versus the Athletics.

Advice: Raleigh had a three game hit streak, but will begin Tuesday's matchup from the bench. He did not start May 29 against the Astros, but did come off the bench for two plate appearances. In his place, Mitch Garver has the start behind the plate and Mitch Haniger is the DH. Rotowire.com Today, 3:40 pm

  • Keynan Middleton to undergo season-ending surgery
Keynan Middleton will undergo season-ending flexor tendon surgery.

Advice: Middleton signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Cardinals back in early February and won’t end up throwing a pitch this season for the club. The 30-year-old righty landed on the shelf back in mid-March with a forearm strain and suffered multiple setbacks over the last few months before ultimately opting for season-ending surgery.
