    • Improves to 4-0
Neris (4-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief with two strikeouts to earn the win Saturday against the Pirates.

Advice: Starter Shota Imanaga tossed seven scoreless innings, followed by scoreless innings from Mark Leiter and Neris in the 1-0 victory. Neris managed to leave with his fourth win, which already puts him just two behind his career high of six wins that he recorded each of the last two seasons. The veteran righty also has six saves in seven chances to go along with a strong 2.65 ERA, making him a valuable fantasy asset so far and the top reliever to target in Chicago's bullpen. • Devin Williams (back) plays catch on Saturday
Devin Williams (back) played catch on Saturday without any issues.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 29-year-old right-hander has thrown since being shut down in spring training due to a pair of stress fractures in his back. He isn’t expected to rejoin the Brewers’ bullpen until mid-July — that’s if everything goes smoothly in his throwing progression — but the fact that he has a ball in his hand once again is obviously an encouraging sign. • Plays catch Saturday
Williams (back) played catch before Saturday's game against the Astros, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Saturday marks the first time Williams has done any sort of throwing since being shut down during spring training due to multiple stress fractures in his back. The 29-year-old closer still has a long way to go before the Brewers can think about sending him out on a minor-league rehab assignment, but he is certainly trending in the right direction. He's expected to rejoin Milwaukee's bullpen near the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Héctor Neris strikes out two, earns win vs. Pirates
Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts to fall in line for the win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Neris hasn’t had many clean outings this season. This one came at an opportune time. With the game scoreless into the ninth, he took the mound and struck out two in a perfect inning to send it to the bottom of the frame. The Cubs would walk it off, giving Neris his fourth win of the season to go with six saves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm
    • Deployed in eighth inning Friday
Suarez earned a hold against Atlanta on Friday, allowing two hits and striking out two batters over one inning.

Advice: Suarez has been one of the best closers in baseball this season with 12 saves (in 12 chances) and a 0.47 ERA, so his usage in the eighth inning against Atlanta was not a demotion. Rather, the right-hander was called upon to face the heart of Atlanta's formidable lineup, and though he gave up singles to Marcell Ozuna and Chadwick Tromp, Suarez managed to emerge from the outing with his 16-game scoreless streak intact. The 33-year-old should see most of his work in the ninth inning going forward, though Friday's usage is an indication that manager Mike Shildt won't hesitate to use Suarez in the highest-leverage situations prior to the ninth if the situation calls for it. • Robert Suarez faces heart of Braves lineup in 8th
Robert Suarez worked the eighth against the Braves on Friday and picked up his first hold by pitching a scoreless inning.

Advice: The Padres don’t usually play matchups with their closer, but they did tonight with No. 2 hitter Ozzie Albies due up to start the eighth. It all worked out perfectly; Suarez gave up a couple of hits, but he protected the two-run lead, and then Jeremiah Estrada locked things up against the bottom of the order in the ninth. • Cleared to start Sunday
Lopez (back) is slated to start Sunday's game against the Padres in Atlanta, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The right-hander dealt with back tightness in his most recent start Monday against the Cubs and was lifted after five scoreless innings, but he's apparently feeling better two days later. Assuming he's able to make it out of his between-starts bullpen session without incident, Lopez shouldn't face any major workload restrictions when he toes the rubber Sunday. After spending most of the last two seasons as a reliever, Lopez has exceeded expectations with his move to a starting role in his first year in Atlanta, going 2-1 with a 1.34 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB in 40.1 innings through his first seven outings. • Reynaldo López (back) likely to make next start
Reynaldo López tossed five scoreless innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Advice: López certainly would’ve gone deeper into the contest, but he was lifted for precautionary reasons following just 71 pitches (50 strikes) after his back tightened up on him. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern with Braves manager Brian Snitker telling reporters afterwards that he doesn’t expect him to miss his next start. The 30-year-old righty will bring a stellar 1.34 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 40/16 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Padres. • Exits with tight back
Lopez was lifted from Monday's start against the Cubs early due to back tightness, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. He didn't factor into the decision after allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four over five scoreless innings.

Advice: Lopez was removed from the game firing 71 pitches, and he likely would've gone back out for the sixth had his back not become an issue. He'll be considered day-to-day leading up to his next outing, but the club expects him to be ready for his next start, per Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:10 pm
