    • J.D. Martinez out of lineup with flu-like symptoms
J.D. Martinez is not in the starting lineup Sunday due to flu-like symptoms according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Advice: Heyman also reports that Francisco Lindor and Harrison Bader are also under the weather, but they’re in the lineup. For now, Martinez should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld 42 minutes ago

    • Battling flu-like symptoms
Martinez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Miami due to flu-like symptoms, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Advice: It turns out Martinez is under the weather, as an illness is reportedly sweeping through the Mets' clubhouse. It's uncertain whether he's available off the bench. Brandon Nimmo will serve as the designated hitter against righty Sixto Sanchez. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

    • J.D. Martinez gets Sunday off against Marlins
J.D. Martinez is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt versus the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez will get a day off against right-hander Sixto Sanchez and the Marlins on Sunday. Brandon Nimmo will be the designated hitter while hitting third, and DJ Stewart will play right field and hit cleanup. Rotoworld Today, 7:39 am

    • Resting up Sunday
Martinez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The 36-year-old will get a breather in the series finale as Brandon Nimmo slots in as the designated hitter against right-hander Sixto Sanchez. Martinez seems to be finding his power stroke finally after joining the team late in spring training; he has five extra-base hits -- including two homers -- in his last eight games. • Third straight game with homer
Ward went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Ward was the only Angel with multiple hits in the 13-inning marathon. He's logged three straight multi-hit games, swatting a homer in each of them to reach 10 long balls on the year. The outfielder is slashing .275/.320/.494 with 28 RBI, 27 runs scored, nine doubles and two stolen bases over 45 contests. Ward continues to hold down a near-everyday role in left field as one of the more productive players on the Angels' roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:05 pm

    • Productive in extra-innings loss
Adell went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Adell has gone 9-for-36 (.250) with four homers, nine RBI and one steal over his last 10 contests. The outfielder is up to eight homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight steals, four doubles, a triple and a .250/.320/.528 slash line through 122 plate appearances. Adell had some brief moments of success in previous years, but he's finally doing enough to stick in a full-time role in right field in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:59 pm

    • Jo Adell homers in extra-innings loss to Rangers
Jo Adell homered and walked twice in an extra-innings loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Adell took Jose Leclerc deep to give the Angels a 2-1 lead and Adell his eighth homer of the season. The 25-year-old has really impressed thus far in 2024, as the three-reach game now has his OPS up to .847 to go along with eight steals and 21 RBI over 108 at-bats. It’s too early for victory laps, but those who have believed in Adell since he was a prospect have to feel a little more sane watching this run. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:03 pm

    • Slugs league-leading 14th homer
Henderson went 1-for-3 with his MLB-leading 14th home run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Not only was it flamethrowing reliever Andres Munoz who Henderson took deep in the ninth inning, but he did so to the opposite field and over the 13-foot wall in left field in an impressive showing of power. It was the second game in a row with a homer for Henderson, who also drew a pair of walks Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:30 pm

    • Perez drives in two on Saturday
Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with two RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Perez had a two-run single in the first inning that opened the scoring. The 34-year-old backstop has been great this year as he’s hitting .333 with a .949 OPS. His walk percentage is nearly double what it usually is at 7.8 percent and his strikeout percentage of 15 percent would be his lowest since 2015. Still, we can’t expect Perez to keep up this average as his .368 BABIP is 77 points higher than his career .291 BABIP.
